- Lindt Sustainability
Our sustainable sourcing model enables us to trace our cocoa beans right back to their origins. This allows usto support farmers and their communities on the ground according to their specific needs.
High-quality cocoa beans are the heart of our chocolates
We, at Lindt & Sprüngli, take responsibility for every stage: from the selection of the cocoa beans to the production of the finished chocolate products. This means we produce chocolate from 'bean to bar'. We understand that we can only make a true, meaningful, impact on local conditions if we know exactly where our cocoa beans come from, who grew them and how they were produced. That is why we developed our very own sustainability program for cocoa beans – the Lindt & Sprüngli Farming Program.
We pride ourselves on using cocoa beans from our Farming Program in our chocolates. Since 2020, 100% of our cocoa beans are sourced traceable and externally verified by an independent third party. This is a major step toward our target to source all cocoa products (beans, butter, powder) through sustainability programs by 2025.
We Are Committed
Since 2020, 100% of our cocoa beans are sourced traceable and externally verified by an independent third party.
We Are Wide-Reaching
Around80,000 cocoa farmers from all our cocoa origin countries are part of ourFarming Program.
We Are Devoted
We invest over USD 10 million every year into our Farming Program.
Our Farming Program in Detail
The Lindt & Sprüngli Farming Program consists of four pillars
Pillar 1 - Traceability and farmer organization
Pillar 2 - Training and knowledge transfer
Pillar 3 - Farmer investments and community development
