Primary Function

Field Manual 31-582
Field Observations

With its speed and teleportation capabilities, Autonomous Ground Vehicle MQ-9X is built to close gaps quickly and engage its targets in close quarters. Once in range, it uses refined Element claws with lethal force.

MQ-9X was clearly designed for urban combat. Its claws and shock absorbers let it scale walls and drop down to street level from significant heights, and we've only seen it patrolling within the city limits. Possibly the remnant of an automated police force or defensive army.

Recommendations: Isolate, and engage at range in wide open spaces. I've calculated its maximum teleportation distance as roughly 15 meters, so maintain that gap as long as possible

Personal Use

Every MQ-9X I've encountered is stuck on a defensive loop, and overriding its primary directive is impossible. However, if we're able to acquire an intact processing core from a hostile unit, with enough parts I could reverse engineer our own, more loyal model. Could be useful - the grooves on its back are suited for a rider, so we wouldn't even need to build saddles.

Behavior

Enforcers will generally wander around the Sanctuary passively, and will not typically attack a survivor or their creatures. If a survivor or creature chooses to attack an Enforcer, however, they will retaliate.

Enforcers may attack the survivor if one of their Enforcer (42)Scouts spots the survivor attacking/killing another creature. This includes taming a creature, so be careful when attempting to tame a dinosaur near an Enforcer. Although at times this is unpredictable, an Enforcer will generally attack carnivores on sight. They are not inclined to attack tamed creatures normally, but have been reported to do so. Always make sure you have an eye on a nearby Enforcer (43)Scout, as it will alert an Enforcer on any aggressive behavior. They will also attack Enforcer (44)Defense Units who display sporadic aggressive behavior.

The Enforcer (45)Scouts can mark aggressive targets when they spot one (survivors and tames included), after which, Enforcers will locate and attack said target.

Carrying a weapon can aggro an Enforcer if a Enforcer (46)Scout targets a survivor.

Appearance

Enforcers look a lot like thin robotic lizards with a featureless head and an implant in the middle of the face. Their limbs are armored like a robot’s. They have a red ring around them when they are aggravated. This red ring indicates that they are in pursuit of a dinosaur or survivor. This creatures appearance doesn’t apply to Xbox which has every region be the body.

Color Scheme and Regions

This section displays the Enforcer's natural colors and regions. For demonstration, the regions below are colored red over an albino Enforcer. The colored squares shown underneath each region's description are the colors that the Enforcer will randomly spawn with to provide an overall range of its natural color scheme. Hover your cursor over a color to display its name and ID.

This information can be used to alter the Enforcer's regions by entering cheat SetTargetDinoColor <ColorRegion> <ColorID> in the cheat console. For instance, cheat SetTargetDinoColor0 6 would color the Enforcer's "body" magenta.

Passive

Blinks

The Enforcer passively recharges its Enforcer (95) Blinks Charges, each one individually every ~5 seconds, the amount of blinks of the Enforcer scales with its Enforcer (96)Stamina stat.

Corrupted Creatures Killer

The Enforcer does x4 its normal Enforcer (97)Melee Damage to Enforcer (98)Corrupted Creatures. In theory it also reduces the damage received from corrupted creatures by 60%, however, this mechanic was never added.

No Fall Damage

The Enforcer receives no Fall Damage.

Combat

This section describes how to fight against the Enforcer.

General

The Enforcer can teleport over short distances as seen in the Extinction trailer. Their build allows them to walk sideways as well, allowing them to easily flank anything they target. They are also capable of climbing walls; to do so, press and hold space when you are near a wall to grapple onto it.

Strategy

Any dino as basic as a Enforcer (99)Triceratops can defeat an Enforcer due to their low health. If you are not riding a dino a Enforcer (100)Shotgun, Enforcer (101)Assault Rifle or Enforcer (102)Crossbow is recommended (depending on what stage of the game you are at) as Enforcers are fairly similar to Enforcer (103)Raptors in terms of stats. However, keep in mind that weapons like the crossbow have a slow reload time and are more powerful at a distance. The Enforcer will be able to teleport to you and attack you after you have only fired one crossbow shot. Keep a Enforcer (104)Pike handy in case this happens, as it can make quick work of low level enforcers assuming you have a reliable set of armor(Chitin and above is recommended). You should not let the Enforcer corner you, as its attacks are very fast, and deal a lot of knockback. You can use the knockback to keep your distance.

Weaponry

Use a shotgun, assault rifle, pike (depending on your stats and armor), or a crossbow to fight them.

Dangers

Enforcers are quick and have an AoE knockback attack that can slow you down. Their speed in tandem with their respectable attack can make them severe threats to survivors on foot.

Normally Enforcers are passive to players unless attacked first. However if you are marked by a Scout that notices you in combat with other creatures, Enforcers will become hostile. Pay attention to your surroundings and make sure you're not being marked by a Scout if you see an Enforcer, if you're wanting to avoid conflict.

Weakness

Enforcers are susceptible to Bolas, making for an easy kill.Their low health pool gives players a great advantage over them, as they can be quickly killed.

Watch out for Enforcer (105)Kaprosuchus in the trench, as their leap attack will grab the Enforcer instead of the rider, leaving you vulnerable to other dangers.

Taming

Enforcers cannot be tamed by default. To be able to own one you must craft them from the following:

To be able to craft anything better than a level 1, a roaming Enforcer must be killed. On death, it leaves behind a blueprint in a dropped package where it died. Blueprints range in quality from Primitive to Ascendant based on the level of the Enforcer killed.

Blueprint mechanics

  • A destroyed Enforcer drops an Enforcer (108)Unassembled Enforcer blueprint that is commonly at the same level or slightly lower. The stats distribution is preserved. The blueprint has a very small chance to slightly exceed the fallen Enforcer level, up to +10% extra levels approximately.
    • Considering the Blueprint can be crafted only once and the Enforcer can not breed nor can it be cloned, it may not be worth hunting those extra levels.
  • The blueprint quality is randomized but low level Enforcers are more likely to drop low quality blueprints with a low crafting cost, and high level Enforcers are more likely to drop high quality blueprints with a high crafting cost. The blueprint quality does not affect anything besides the crafting cost, so low quality blueprints are actually more valuable, which is very counter-intuitive.

Preferred Food

Enforcers consume Enforcer (109)Element Dust as its "food" source first as it fills the least energy, but it will also consume Element Shard and Element. Though for the Enforcer the food bar is replaced with an "Energy" bar. Despite this, the Enforcer is able to consume Enforcer (110)Sweet Vegetable Cake, and will do so automatically, but with no benefits.

Utility

  • Well rounded, agile mount with wall climbing similar to Rock Drake
  • Teleportation
  • AOE knock-back attack

Roles

  • Travel Mount, Scout: With a low health, no saddle, no imprint or mate bonus, the Enforcer can not be a committed battle mount and while it can fend off low level mobs occasionally, it should not be pushed further into battle.
The Enforcer is more of a travel mount with great speed, maneuverability and carry weight. The fast climbing and teleport abilities are very valuable in no fly maps such as Aberration or Genesis. Enforcers can walk on the ocean floor so they can be used to explore the pearl caves with ease on The Island. Level up Enforcer (111)Stamina, Enforcer (112)Movement Speed and a little bit of Enforcer (113)Weight.
  • Cave Rush: Enforcers can be used to rush through caves, while avoiding combat. The teleport and climbing abilities are helpful to skip or go around mobs. The torpor immunity and the AOE Shock Burst ability are helpful in tight spaces. Level up Enforcer (114)Stamina and Enforcer (115)Movement Speed.
  • City Traverser: Enforcers with high Enforcer (116)Stamina can traverse around the city with more ease than nearly any creature by virtue of their speed, wall-climbing, and teleportation. They don't take fall damage either. They can also be useful to harvest Enforcer (117)Element Dust, Enforcer (118)Crystal, Enforcer (119)Electronics, and Enforcer (120)Scrap Metal from metal remains (Lamposts and benches). (Level up Stamina, Weight and Speed)
  • Pack Mule: The Enforcer has an excellent base Enforcer (121)Weight stat, it can carry loads of materials and can travel through uneven terrain. (Level up Weight and Speed)
  • Corruption Killer: The Enforcer deal quadruple damage against Enforcer (122)Corrupted Creatures, making them a highly valuable creature to fight against them or for defending low level Enforcer (123)Orbital Supply Drops if they were the result of the use of a good blueprint (Survivors are still at risk of being pinned down by Enforcer (124)Raptor if they are riding on it, though Corrupted Raptors can not dismount you). (Level up Health, Stamina and Damage)
  • Enforcer Hunt: The Enforcer gives Enforcer (125)Scrap Metal, Enforcer (126)Element Dust, Enforcer (127)Electronics and Enforcer (128)Oil after farming the body, if the player uses a high quality Enforcer (129)Chainsaw to harvest them this is a very viable way to harvest all those resources.

Notes/Trivia

  • The Enforcer will gain an additional teleport charge at level 40, 80, 110, and 175, to a maximum of 5 charges.
  • If the energy bar of a tamed Enforcer is empty, it will "starve" to death, like all other creatures.
    • Oddly enough, the energy will not slowly deplete unlike all other creature.
  • The Enforcer doesn't receive falling damage.
  • Enforcer (138)Corrupted Creatures receive 4x more damage when attacked by an Enforcer, making them great corrupted killers.
  • If you leave the game while the enforcer is climbing at the next start it will be unable to attack. To solve the problem you have to close the game while the enforcer is on the ground.
  • Enforcers do not swim or float while being ridden, when underwater in these circ*mstances, they will move on the floor of the body of water as if on land, much like the Rock Elemental.
  • Curiously, the Enforcer can be scared by a Enforcer (139)Yutyrannus, despite being a machine.
  • As of v287.103, the Enforcer can't be healed using Enforcer (140)Meat even though it does not increase the Enforcer (141)Energy of the Enforcer.
  • Enforcers are capable of moving while immobilized by Enforcer (142)Bolas by teleporting.
    • Ironically, using a Enforcer (143)Bola from behind the wild Enforcer prevents the knock-back attack and teleport.
  • All newly crafted and spawned/tamed Enforcers arrives with a randomized name in the form of a serial number, although these can be renamed.
  • In patch v287.110, Enforcers were supposed to get 60% damage reduction against corrupted creatures. However this change was never implemented despite being in the patch notes. Whether or not it's a "bug" or misleading intention is not known.
  • Enforcers can both be repainted like any other equipment and structures, and will also spawn in their "natural" color based on the blueprint of the destroyed Enforcer it came from.
  • When a tamed Enforcer dies, it will drop a new schematic so you can re-craft it.
  • Wild enforcers can be only found on Extinction and Genesis 2 however their blueprint appears in the tek replicator on other maps (Island, Ragnarok etc.) meaning that like cryopod and cryofridge it's no longer extinction exclusive.
    • The same goes for scouts, but not for the mek.
