Women are breaking through the glass ceiling in the RE sector more than ever before. Many women around the world have successful careers in the real estate field, holding roles from realtors to brokers to property managers to developers. Among the top influential women in real estate include Barbara Corcoran, Wu Yajun, Dottie Herman, Jane Goldman, Yugti Nagpal, and Ayesha Aqeel Dhedhi. Women continue redefining the real estate industry landscape, proving that talent knows no gender. 1) Barbara Corcoran: the Shark Tank investor
Barbara Corcoran is the cofounder of “The Corcoran Group”, which is one of the most prominent brokerage groups in New York City. Back in the United States, the residential real estate market is dominated by Douglas Elliman, which is led by Dottie Herman. Her company has experienced substantial expansion and success under her leadership, with much of her success attributed to developing a strong long-term vision and leveraging relationships throughout the industry.
4) Jane Goldman: America’s only billionaire female real estate investor
No discussion of female real estate investors would be complete with the rock star Jane Goldman, the youngest daughter of legendary Mogul Sol Goldman. As principal of the company she founded with her three siblings, Goldman controls over 400 high-end properties throughout New York, including a stake in the World Trade Center developments. She is so successful with her business deals, that look no further than her sales: after purchasing a property in 2015, she sold it in 2020 for a net profit of an amazing $39 million (Martin, 2023).
5) Yukti Nagpal: Director, Gulshan Homz, India
She is known mostly for her deep understanding of consumer needs and her vision of redefining luxury. She is also a proactive participant in creating more space for women in industry. She led the planning, design, and construction of premium living spaces and state-of-the-art landmarks that are also sustainable. She received a place in the 40 under 40 list for the year 2021 by Realty+. She was also on the women entrepreneurs list of top 10 Women Entrepreneurs in 2020-2021.
6) Ayesha Aqeel Dhedhi: CEO, Creek Developers, Pakistan
Ayesha Aqeel Dhedhi is theyoungest female CEO in the real estate sector in Pakistan. She is currently working as the CEO of Creek Developers (Private) Limited. She has 11 years of work experience. By qualification, she holds a Master of Business Administration (Barai, 2023).
