What does ECOS do?
ECOS was founded by Van Vlahakis in 1967 who committed to creating safer cleaning products that protect the health and wellbeing of people and the planet. ECOS provides a range of Laundry, Dishwashing, Hand Soap, Cleaners and Disinfectants and Pet care products. This product range includes eco-friendly washing up liquid and grooming spray for animals. ECOS is owned by Venus Laboratories Inc, formerly Earth Friendly Products.

Past Criticisms of ECOS’s ethical record
ECOS faced criticism after ECOS claimed products to be Non-toxic when they actually contain a toxic ingredient that can be lethal in small doses. Phenoxyethanol is toxic under federal law and allegedly one of the ingredients used in multiple ECOS products.
