DuitNow - Digital Products & Services (2024)

DuitNowis a new service that enables you to transfer funds to your recipient’s DuitNow ID instead of their account number. You can register and transfer using DuitNow via Maybank2u.

Following IDs can be used for DuitNow registration:

1. Mobile Number
2. NRIC
3. Army or Police Number
4. Passport Number
5. Business Registration Number

Effective 21 August 2021, ‘DuitNow - Instant Transfer’ will be renamed to ‘DuitNow Transfer’ on Maybank2u, Maybank2u Classic, Maybank2u Biz websites, Maybank2u MY App and MAE app.

With the re-branding of this service, customers can send money to anyone conveniently via ‘DuitNow Transfer’ (bank account number) or DuitNow ID (mobile number or NRIC/passport number).

You no longer need an account number to send or receive money! Just pair your TAC mobile number or NRIC/Passport Number in Maybank2u to start sending and receiving money using DuitNow.

DuitNow ID Registration via Maybank2u Web

1. Login to Maybank2u
2. Go to ‘Apply’
3. Select ‘DuitNow’ and click ‘Apply Now’ to proceed for DuitNow ID registration.
4. Select your preferred account number to pair with your ID number reflected in Maybank2u.
5. Click ‘Done’ to complete the registration.

DuitNow ID Registration via Maybank App

1. Launch your Maybank app and login
2. Select ‘Me’ on the side menu
3. Tap on ‘DuitNow’ and select ‘Register’ to proceed for DuitNow ID registration
4. Select your preferred account number to pair with your ID number reflected in the app.
5. Tap ‘Done’ to complete the registration

DuitNow Transfer via Maybank2u Web

1. Login to Maybank2u
2. Click ‘Pay and Transfer’
3. Select ‘Transfer To: DuitNow’
4. Click ‘New Transfer’ and choose recipients’ DuitNow ID type
5. Key in your DuitNow ID details e.g. DuitNow ID number, amount, recipient reference.
6. Click ‘Transfer’
7. Key in TAC number and click ‘Confirm’

DuitNow Transfer via Maybank app

1. Login to Maybank app
2. Click ‘Transfer’
3. Select ‘Transfer via DuitNow’
4. Choose your debiting account
5. Tap on ‘New Transfer’ and key in your DuitNow ID details e.g. DuitNow ID number and select ‘Continue’
6. Enter transfer amount and recipient reference and select ‘Continue’
7. Confirm the transfer details before requesting for Authentication.
8. Your transfer is successful, you may save the DuitNow ID as favourite or share your transfer receipt

DuitNow Transfer via MAE App

1. Login to MAE App.
2. Tap ‘Transfer’.
3. Choose your debiting account .
4. Select ‘DuitNow’.
5. Choose your debiting account.
6. Key in your DuitNow ID details (mobile number / IC number) and select ‘Continue’.
7. Enter transfer amount and select ‘Continue’.
8. Enter recipient reference and select ‘Continue’.
9. Confirm the transfer details and select ‘Transfer Now’.
10. Approve your transaction using ‘One-Tap Authorisation’.
11. Your transfer is successful, you may save the DuitNow ID as favourite or share your transfer receipt

DuitNow Transfer

For funds transfer via Maybank2u Web

• Step 1: Login and go to Pay & Transfer > Transfer
• Step 2: From the ‘Transfer To’ section, select Other Accounts > Account number
• Step 3: Search for the bank name, fill in the transfer details and choose DuitNow Transfer and click Transfer
• Step 4: Key in TAC number or confirm your transaction with Secure2u. You’re done!

For funds transfer via Maybank2u Classic / Maybank2u Biz Web

• Step 1: Login and go to Accounts & Banking > Transfers > New Interbank Fund Transfer
• Step 2: Select recipient’s bank and fill in the details
• Step 3: Select DuitNow Transfer as mode of transfer
• Step 4: Key in TAC number or confirm your transaction with Secure2u. You’re done!

For funds transfer via MAE app

• Step 1: From the main dashboard, tap on Transfer under Quick Actions
• Step 2: Login and go to the ‘Others’ tab > select Instant
• Step 3: Select recipient’s bank and fill in the transfer details
• Step 4: Under Transfer mode, select DuitNow Transfer
• Step 5: Confirm your transaction. You’re done!

For funds transfer via Maybank2u MY app

• Step 1: Login and tap on Transfer
• Step 2: Select Bank and fill in the transfer details
• Step 3: Select DuitNow Transfer as mode of transfer and tap Proceed
• Step 4: Confirm your transaction with Secure2u. You’re done!

To de-register or think that your DuitNow ID number is invalid, follow these steps:

Note: If you think that DuitNow is invalid or outdated, please de-register and go to the nearest Maybank branch to update your latest mobile number in your Maybank2u

DuitNow ID Deregistration via Maybank2u Web

1. Login to Maybank2u
2. Go to ‘Setting’
3. Click ‘Pay and Transfer’
4. Click ‘DuitNow’
5. Toggle at the account that you wish to deregister.
6. Click ‘Yes’ to deregister / ‘Deactivate Temporarily’ to proceed with DuitNow ID deregistration.

DuitNow ID Deregistration via Maybank App

1. Login to Maybank app
2. Select Me on the side menu
3. Go to ‘DuitNow’
4. Toggle to the account that you wish to deregister
5. Click ‘Yes’ to deregister/ ‘Deactivate Temporarily’ to proceed with DuitNow ID deregistration

DuitNow ID Deregistration via MAE App

1. Launch the MAE App
2. Tap on ‘More’ > ‘Settings’ > ‘Maybank2u’ > ‘DuitNow’. Your DuitNow ID will be displayed.
3. Tap on the ID and select ‘Deregister DuitNow’ or ‘Disable Temporarily’
4. Enter OTP to proceed with DuitNow ID deregistration.

The maximum combined limit for DuitNow, DuitNow Transfer (to account) and Interbank GIRO (IBG) is RM50,000 per day. You can change your transaction limits in the settings.

Let’s say you’ve set your daily limit to the maximum amount, here are some examples:

• If you’ve made a DuitNow transaction of RM10,000, you can only transfer up to RM40,000 via IBG and DuitNow Transfer (to account) on the same day.
• If you’ve made a DuitNow transaction of RM20,000 and a DuitNow Transfer (to account) transaction of RM20,000, you can only transfer up to RM10,000 via IBG on the same day.
• If you’ve made a DuitNow transaction of RM50,000, you will not be able to make any more fund transfers via DuitNow Transfer (to account) and IBG on the same day.
