The Silk Road

The Silk Roadis an ancient network of trade and cultural transmission routes that were central to cultural interaction through regions of the Asian continent connecting the West and East. The route consists of many roads, paths, and passages linking approximately 4,000 miles and up to 20 countries depending on the given route taken.The Silk Road received its name in 1859 from German scholar Baron Ferdinand von Richtofen — centuries after the caravan route stopped being used. This same route has been traveled for the last 10,000 years and has become a bucket list journey for many overland enthusiasts. If you decide to embark on this adventure there is enough information on the internet to create a trip of a lifetime.
