Sean-bumble-bee Captain Flight distance : 15997ft United Kingdom Offline
| Just like a normal aircraft, there is an absolute maximum height, above sea level, that the limits the drone, above which the air is too thin for the drone to fly, that is the 4000m limit. Then there are limits set by DJI and the pilot, these are determined by air pressure changes due to height and are based on the the air pressure at the takeoff point, the take off point is considered to be at0, zero m/ft. DJI set a maximum height above the level of the take off point of 500m, this is hardwired into the drone an can not, in normal flight, be broken. The pilot can set a height limit between 15m? and 500m. Then there are some other low limits depending on whether or not the GPS signal is adequate or not and whether or not the VPS system has sufficient light to work.5 ? m, if inadequateGPS but working VPS, I forget the other one but I think it is, for some reason, higher than 5m. Finally there maybe a height limit set depending on whether or not there is a screen device attached to the controller and whether or not the pilot is logged into the FLY app on that screen device. |

Maximum Altitude Technical Limits
For instance, most DJI drones can fly up to 1,640 feet high. However, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulates the use of drones in the United States and has set a maximum altitude limit of 400 feet for both recreational and commercial drone flying.
What is the flight altitude and distance limited for DJI? ›
If the DJI Mini 3 is used with the propeller guard, there will be limitations on flight altitude and distance. Flight altitude is limited to 30 m and distance is limited to 50 m relative to the Home Point.
How does DJI Mini 2 measure altitude? ›
It has also a barometric pressure sensor, which measures air pressure to estimate altitude. The principle is straightforward: as the drone ascends, the air pressure decreases, which the drone interprets as an increase in altitude.
How far away can DJI Mini 2 fly? ›
The DJI Mini 2 has a maximum transmissions distance of 10km in FCC mode (USA) and 6km in CE mode (UK & EU) in an unobstructed area free of interference.
Can dji mini 2 fly higher than 500m? ›

What happens if I fly my drone over 400 feet? ›
If you're caught flying your drone above 400 feet without proper authorization or a valid reason, you could face penalties, fines, and potential legal repercussions. It's crucial to respect the regulations and fly responsibly.
How to legally fly a drone above 400 feet? ›
The FAA allows the 400-foot altitude limit to be waiver upon request by Part 107-licensed drone pilots. Waivers are requested through the FAA DroneZone website through a process that requires the drone operator to describe the proposed operations in heavy detail.

When a DJI UAV flies near a GEO Zone, a warning will pop up in the DJI GO or DJI GO 4 app. Read these warnings carefully and react accordingly. if a DJI UAV is flying towards an Altitude Zone at an altitude that is higher than the restricted ceiling of that zone, it will automatically decelerate and hover in place.
Launch the DJI Fly > Go to Settings > Safety > Flight Protection and then set the Max Altitude. Also, if you are within the restricted area, you may send an email to [email protected] for unlocking before the flight.
How high can a DJI Mini 3 fly? ›
