What ATM can I use to get money off my Direct Express card? ›

How does the Direct Express^® card work? Each month, your money is automatically deposited to your Direct Express® card account on your payment date. You can go to any bank, credit union, or ATM that shows the Mastercard® logo, even if you do not have a bank account.

A Transaction may not be processed if: (a) the amount of the Transaction exceeds your available balance, (b) the Card has been reported lost or stolen, (c) we are uncertain whether you have authorized the Transaction, or (d) there is a dispute involving your available balance.

The Direct Express® card surcharge-free ATM network offers surcharge free ATM access at approximately 75,000 ATMs throughout the country including Comerica Bank, Charter One, Privileged Status, Alliance One, PNC Bank, MasterCard® ATM Alliance, and MoneyPass.

The Direct Express® Debit MasterCard® card is issued by Comerica Bank, pursuant to a license by MasterCard International Incorporated. MasterCard® and the MasterCard® Brand Mark are registered trademarks of MasterCard International Incorporated.

There are a number of issues that could result in a debit card decline. For starters, you could be mistaken about your balance, or you may have reached your daily limit for withdrawals. The bank may feel the transaction is suspicious, based on your purchase history. Technical issues may also be to blame.

The new biometric access version of the Direct Express® Mobile App is free and is compatible with cards identified by numbers beginning with 533248. The mobile app can be downloaded from the Apple® App Store and Google Play™ (Android™).

There's no Direct Express Overdraft

The Direct Express card cannot be overdrawn in most cases unlike a checking account. In the event that card has inadequate funds, the repayment will generally be denied.

You can withdraw your money at an ATM machine, by obtaining cash-back at a retail location, or by visiting any bank or credit union that displays the MasterCard^® acceptance mark and get cash from a teller. Please note that fees may apply depending upon how you use your card.

What ATM will not charge a fee? ›

When you use an in-network ATM — one that your bank partners with — you usually do not pay a fee for the service. To find an in-network ATM, you can check your bank's website or look at the back of your ATM or debit card.

Direct Express^® cardholders can get cash from ATMs worldwide wherever the MasterCard^® acceptance mark is displayed. Some ATM owners apply a surcharge fee to use their ATMs. This fee is in addition to any other fees applied.

The Direct Express® card is a debit card you can use to access your benefits and you don't need a bank account. With the Direct Express® card program, your federal benefit payment directly deposits into your card account. Your monthly benefits will be available on your payment day—on time, every time.

Use the Direct Express Mobile App: Log into the Direct Express app and navigate to the transfer section. Transfer Funds to Bank Account: Enter your bank account details and initiate the transfer. Link Bank Account to Cash App: Once the funds are available in your bank account, open Cash App and link your bank account.
