Does Dark Reader work in Chrome? ›

This dark mode app has an awesome classic design and changes the background color of every website to black. This app for the Chrome browser will switch a dark theme on all the websites. Social networks, websites, and every new tab will be painted black.

Dark mode chrome is an extension that helps you quickly switch your browser to dark mode. The button on the toolbar as a toggle ON | OFF, which allows you to easily and quickly turn the extension on or off. There is also a whitelist feature that allows you to exclude the desired domain from chrome dark mode.

(at the top right corner of Google Chrome), select "More tools" and click "Extensions". Locate "Dark Reader for Chrome" and other recently-installed suspicious extensions, select these entries and click "Remove".

Dark Mode extension automatically shifts the colors of your browser content to the warmer end of the color spectrum after dark. Dark Reader extension will put a dark theme on all websites, suitable for those who work at night and dark reader for online news or book reading.

The extension doesn't work at all

Click Dark Reader icon, check if the top-right button is set to On and that Toggle site is not excluding the current site. Open Site list tab, check that Not invert listed is selected. If nothing helps, something terrible has happened, e-mail us.

Unlike Dark Reader, Night Eye enables dark mode using its proprietary algorithm, instead of inverting the colors. In addition to simply enabling dark mode, it also gives you a plethora of options to control the built-in dark themes on sites that have it.

Dark mode on Android used to be enabled the same way as web content on the desktop. It was an experimental feature, but now official support has rolled: Open Chrome on your Android device. Tap More (three dots) at the top right, then go to Settings > Theme.

I've given it 5 stars! It's a big help if you're on the computer all day. It made some site not work well at all. Just have the reflex of turning it off if you encounter weird behaviours from your browsers.

Dark Reader inverts bright colors, making them high contrast and easy to read at night. You can adjust the brightness, contrast, sepia filter, dark mode, font settings and the ignore-list.

Use the hotkeys Alt+Shift+D for switching the extension On/Off and Alt+Shift+A for adding current web-site into your sites list (you may choose if you would like to ignore these sites or invert them only).

Dark mode reduces blue light exposure

In fact dark mode is also considered as 'night mode'. Lowering the device's brightness settings also helps to protect your eyes from blue light exposure. Blue light emitted from digital screens is known to inhibit melatonin secretion by the pineal gland in our brain.

Manage Dark mode in Chrome

At the bottom right of a New Tab page, select Customize Chrome . Under “Appearance,” select either: Light : Chrome will be in a light theme. Dark : Chrome will be in a dark theme.

On your desktop, right-click and select Set wallpaper & style. Select Theme. To turn on Dark mode, at the bottom, select Dark. To change between Light mode and Dark mode with a timed schedule, select Auto.
