See What We Offer forFAMILY DINING
Freestyle Dining provides dining choices that satisfy even the pickiest eater in the family. Grab a burger hot off the grill or sit down for a four-course meal. Dress up. Dress down. You'll find more dining options than days of your cruise, and you're free to enjoy them all on your own schedule.
Free cruise dining means it's possible to set sail without having to shell out any more money on food. All mainstream cruise lines offer three meals a day in their ships' main dining rooms and upper-deck cruise buffets. You'll also find that there are usually one or two additional spots that are included in your fare.
Midnight buffet is no longer a thing. On our last cruise on Celebrity, however, on the last sea day around 10 p.m. there was a dessert buffet set up by the Martini Bar with cake pops, macarons, and truffles. Nothing major, but it was a nice little interlude. There is often part of the celebrity buffet open past 10pm.
It is usually permitted to take food to your stateroom on a cruise, especially from the buffet and other informal eateries. If you want to take some food with you, you should take a small cooler bag or an insulated container to keep your food fresh.
The Windjammer Buffet is also open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and are included as part of your cabin purchase. The Buffet offers a wide variety of options and cuisines for each meal. There are designated times for meals, but you are welcome to come and eat at the buffet at any time.
Your cruise fare always includes food for breakfast, lunch and dinner on a cruise ship. However, not all venues that offer food will be free. The main dining room and cruise ship buffet will always be included in your cruise fare, though a few specialty items might cost extra.
Much of the food is included in your cruise fare, with the exception of the steakhouse, Cucina del Capitano, and chef's table that cost a little extra. You can eat as much as you want!
Most cruise lines offer traditional dining in tandem with flexible dining. Flexible dining is as the name suggests: a dining option where you can have dinner whenever you please (within a specific dinner time frame).
Casual, resort-style wear is appropriate for daytime. But in the evenings, the dress code is almost always elegant casual, with the exception of the final evening of each cruise (which is casual).
If you're having dinner in the main restaurant or any meal at one of the specialty restaurants, you'll follow a “smart casual” dress code on most nights. This means long pants, jeans, a dress or skirt, a stylish top, or a button-down.
There may also be a space for an extra tip if you want to add one. Small ships might not automatically add a tip, so be sure to check the bill and leave around 15 to 20 percent if a gratuity wasn't included and you feel the service warrants it.
You can enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks for free on a cruise. This includes access to all complimentary food venues onboard. Main dining restaurants feature versatile menus that cater to a variety of tastes and dietary preferences, which comes included in your cruise fare.
Available across the Royal Caribbean fleet, Windjammer is the cruise line's main self-serve buffet offering. Additional buffet-style options vary by ship, an example is Solarium Bistro or Park Cafe.
All ships have at least seven dining venues, with enough free options that you can feast your way through an entire cruise without paying extra for a single meal.
Well, it's now spring 2022 -- and they're back, baby. Royal Caribbean International is the latest to reintroduce the all-you-can-eat self-serve buffet – following brands such as Carnival, Norwegian and Disney Cruise Line.
Some of the most luxurious cruise lines offer some or all drinks free of charge. Cruise lines such as Silversea, Seabourn, and Regent Seven Seas are some that provide passengers with all-inclusive beverage service.
