Q1. How can I switch on/off and set/modify limits for different category of transactions (for domestic and international usage) on the SBI Card app/website?
Please follow any of the below mentioned process to activate or set/modify the usage/limits for different transaction categories on your SBI Credit Card:
- SBI Card App - Login => Select ‘Manage Card Usage’ => Select ‘Manage Card Transactions’ => Choose Transaction category / limit to be modified
- SBI Card website - Login => Go to ‘Menu’ and select ‘Manage Card Usage’ => Click on ‘Manage Card Transactions’ => Choose Transaction category / limit to be modified
- To activate transaction usage or set/modify limit, click here
- Click to visit Chatbot ILA or click on ILA icon available on the SBI Card website and follow the below steps -
- Type and enter ‘Manage Card Usage’
- Login to your account
- Choose the transaction usage category (Domestic/ International) to be activated basis your requirement
- Activate the transaction type (e.g., Domestic Online, etc.) & set the transaction limit
- Authenticate the request using the OTP shared on your Registered Mobile Number
Q2. I am the secondary/add-on cardholder. Can I change the transaction usages/limits on the SBI Card App/website?
No. Transaction limits on the SBI Card account can only be managed by a Primary account holder for both primary and add-on Card
Q3. Will there be a lag if I activate/deactivate/change limit for any transaction usage for any category?
No. All the changes are saved and activated instantly
Q4. What will happen if I do a transaction(eg. Online) and my domestic online transaction category switch is OFF?
The said transaction will get declined. Similar behavior will be applicable for all transaction types(for domestic and international usage). To successfully complete the transaction, please switch ON the corresponding transaction category switch(Domestic Online in this case). To manage transaction category usage, please check Question 1.
Q5. What will happen if I do a transaction(domestic/international) greater than the transaction category limit set but lesser than my credit limit?
The said transaction will get declined. To successfully complete the transaction, please increase the corresponding category limit OR attempt a transaction within the transaction category limit set. To manage transaction category limits, please check Question 1.
Q6. What are Domestic Transactions?
Transactions done in India in currency code as INR (Indian Rupees). Kindly enable your domestic usage to transact at retails stores or online websites/ mobile apps in India.
Q7. What are International Transactions?
Transactions done in foreign currency or INR in countries outside India(Except Nepal and Bhutan). Kindly enable your international usage to transact online on international websites/ at stores outside of India.
Q8. What is an ‘Online’ Transaction?
Online transactions include payment done on a website, mobile app/QR Code or any other online mode(including auto-debit/standing instructions etc.), for the purchase of goods or services.
Q9. What is meant by ‘POS’/’POS Transaction’?
Point of Sale(POS) transaction is a payment done at retail store using point of sale (POS) terminals by dipping your credit card/payment using card tokenization services (eg. Samsung Pay/SBI Card Pay). Activate your credit card for making POS transactions.
Q10.What is a ‘Contactless’ Transaction/NFC?
Contactless/Tap & Pay transactions are done by tapping your card at NFC (Near Field Communication) enabled Point of Sale (PoS) terminals for purchase of goods or services.
Q11.What is an ATM transaction?
Automated Teller Machine(ATM) transaction is a transaction done at ATMs to avail cash/use other ATM facility.
Q12.What is ‘Set Your Spend Limits’?
Using ‘Set Your Spend Limits ‘ link you can set your individual category usage as per billing cycle credit limit.
Q13.What is the max. limit that I can set for any category?
The maximum limit for any category can be set equivalent to the credit limit on the card. In case of ATM transactions, the maximum limit that can be set will be the cash limit on the card.
Q14.What happens to my existing Standing Instructions/Autopay bill registrations done through SBI Credit Card website/mobile app ?
These transactions are treated as online domestic transactions. Please ensure that your online switch is ON for domestic transactions
Q15.What happens to any Standing Instructions that I had set directly at merchant websites/app?
These transactions are treated as online transactions. Please ensure that your online switch is ON for domestic & International transactions
Q16.Why are all these transaction categories listed on the app/website?
The different transaction usage categories have been added for enhanced security on your card.
