- In the lower-left corner of the Windows desktop, right click theStart icon, and thenclickRun.
The Run dialog box appears. - In the text box to the right ofOpen,typemmc.
- ClickOK.
The Console Root window appears. - On theFilemenu, clickAdd/Remove Snap-in.
TheAdd or Remove Snap-insdialog box appears. - In theAvailable snap-inslist box, clickComputer Management, and then clickAdd.
The Computer Management dialog box appears. - Verify thatLocal Computer(the computerthis console is running on) is selected, and then clickFinish.
- In theAvailable snap-inslist box, clickGroup Policy Object Editor, and then clickAdd.
The Select Group Policy Object dialog box appears. - Verify that Local Computeris selected in theGroup Policy Objectbox, and then clickFinish.
- In theAvailable snap-inslist box, clickCertificates, and then clickAdd.
The Certificates snap-in dialog box appears. - SelectComputer Account, and then clickNext.
- Verify that(the computerthis console isrunning on) is selected, and then clickFinish.
- In theAvailable snap-inslist box, clickIP Security Monitor, and then clickAdd.
We will use the IP Security Monitor tool to monitor the successful security connections the IPsec policy creates. - ClickOK.
- On the File menu, click Save.
The Save dialog box appears. - In the File Name box, enter a name for your MMC console (for example, MMC Console or IPsec MMC Console).
- In the Save In box, select where to save your MMC console.
- Click Save.
