Track Container
A container Tracking System allows you to know where your sea cargo is in the world and gives you the port details. You can track anytime the current location of the container. To track a container location you need to specify the container number/Bill of lading/Booking number and the shipping line. Using any of theses three references you can track a container and see where the container is.
What is a Container number?
One way to track a container is using the container number. A container number is composed of four letters (container prefix) which is the owner code followed by six digits serial number and a check digit. For example: ABCD1234567. The owner code shows the company to which the container belongs. The check digit is used to identify a possible mistype in the container number and is the last digit in the container number. The check digit validates the container prefix and the container serial number.

What is a Bill of Lading?
Using the bill of lading is another way to track a container. A Bill of Lading, sometimes abbreviated as B/L or BOL, is a standard document issued by the carrier which shows the details of the shipment and gives title of the shipment to the specified party. The bill of Lading is a necessary document to move a freight shipment. This document is used in international trade to guarantee that exporters receive payment and importers receive merchandise.
Booking number
Booking number is a shipping reservation number for your cargo used by your cargo carrier or its agent. The booking number is supplied by the shipping company when you book your cargo.
Types of tracking system
The Standard Container Tracking System will record the movements of the container journey as the container passes through key points such as ports.
The GPS Container Tracking System will show where the container is in real time, anywhere in the world, as well as, critical container data as temperature and tamper reports. The GPS Tracking System has a battery pack installed permanently on the container. The system shows time, temperature, speed, latitude, longitude, shock reports and battery information.
