What is the minimum deposit for CommSec? ›

With CommSec Share Trading, your initial purchase of any particular shareholding must be at least $500 worth of shares, known as a 'minimum marketable parcel of shares'.

CommSec means value

It's free to join, there are no ongoing fees and you can start trading with as little as $500. Value also means a great range of free research and trading tools, and an ongoing commitment to making your trading experience the best it can be.

Most customers have access to an initial $5,000 limit which can be used to buy leading stocks. Within that limit, $1,000 can also be used for non-leading stocks. Our current list of leading stocks can be found here (non-leading stocks are any stocks not included on this list).

Australian stocks can be bought through a variety of methods even if you don't have an international or Australian brokerage account. You can easily participate in the Australian stock market through global depositary receipts (GDRs), ADRs and ETFs that can be accessed through stock exchanges based in the U.S. and U.K.

Log into Netbank (you can access NetBank from your CommSec account by selecting the NetBank tab in the top left corner of your screen). Select Transfers & BPAY in the main menu. In the "From" field, use the dropdown menu to select the CDIA you would like to transfer from.

We may place restrictions on an account if there are current outstanding payments or a history of unmet payments. If there are restrictions on your CommSec account, your ability to sell shares won't be impacted. However, your ability to buy shares will be limited.

Well, there is no limit to how much you can make from stocks in a month. The money you can make by trading can run into thousands, lakhs, or even higher. A few key things that intraday profits depend on: How much capital are you putting in the markets daily?

How do fees work? Whether you trade via the CommBank app or CommSec Pocket app, you'll pay $2 each time you invest or sell up to $1,000. Trades over $1,000 are charged at 0.20% of the trade value.

If you have more than one trade settling on the same day, we'll just debit or deposit one amount to cover the total. If you place both BUY and SELL orders within the same day (or the following day) we will debit or deposit the difference between the executed trades. This process is known as contra settlement.

Because they trade like stocks, ETFs do not require a minimum initial investment and are purchased as whole shares. You can buy an ETF for the price of just one share, usually referred to as the ETF's "market price."
