You may have heard of Yoga with Adriene. It’s a YouTube channel with over 10 million followers led by quirky, lovable yoga powerhouse Adriene Mishler. If you’ve heard of Adriene, then you’ll definitely know about the 30 Days of Yoga with Adriene challenges. They’re guided video practices released daily in January each year. These series are available for free on YouTube, and contain 30 (or 31) videos at 15-45 minutes in length. If you sign up on the website, you’ll also receive a daily message to supplement the practice of the day. Beginning in January 2015, Adriene released 30 Days of Yoga, 30 Days of Yoga Camp, and Yoga Revolution. I personally found that each one is unique, fun, and invigorating in its own way.

Just beginning your yoga journey? Check out my tips for starting an at-home practice here!

Looking for an update? Click here for my review of TRUE (2018), here for Dedicate (2019), here for HOME (2020), and here for Breath (2021) and Move (2022)!

Why a 30 day experience? While it’s awesome to practice yoga wherever and whenever it fits into your life, a daily practice provides great structure for growth. This was true for me physically, mentally, and emotionally. Adriene gets into some of this in the intro video for her first series, 30 Days of Yoga.

So what if you’ve just found out about Yoga with Adriene, and want to begin a month-long yoga journey? Should you choose 30 Days of Yoga (2015), Yoga Camp (2016), or Yoga Revolution (2017)?

Naturally, I (and Adriene, I’m sure) would recommend all three — probably in chronological order. But perhaps you’re looking for a particular type of yoga challenge. If that’s the case, I want to provide you with some context and insight to help you choose, based on my own experiences with these three 30 Days of Yoga with Adriene series.

If You’re New to Yoga

My recommendation for newcomers would be the original 30 Days of Yoga. Adriene’s guidance is very clear and informative in this series — but don’t worry, there’s lots of fun and silliness along the way. There’s also a natural progression of difficulty throughout the series. As a relative newbie myself, I found the earlier videos helped me build strength and mindfulness to prepare me for the rest of the series.

If You’re Looking for a Physical Challenge

Is yoga your workout of choice? Awesome! I’d recommend Yoga Camp. I found this series to be the most physically demanding of the three. Like the first challenge, this sequel series provides a ramp up to the more challenging videos. Adriene provides opportunities to practice new, more difficult poses, but also offers modifications as you work towards them. Props like yoga blocks or straps are always optional in Adriene’s videos, but I’ve found that they’re a great, inexpensive way to work on a new pose without throwing off your alignment.

If You’re Seeking a Journey of Self-Love

Committing to any yoga experience is an act of self-love, but if your ultimate goal is an emotional experience, then Yoga Revolution is for you. This series is the embodiment of Yoga With Adriene’s slogan/mantra, “Find What Feels Good”. The focus is much more on mindfulness, positivity, and “tapping into your inner smile” than the other two 30 Days of Yoga with Adriene experiences.

If You Want a Consistent Practice

Maybe you’re having trouble sticking to your New Year’s Resolutions or other lifestyle goals. If you’re looking to make yoga a daily ritual to carry you into the rest of the year, I’d suggest starting out with 30 Days of Yoga. I found this series to be the most consistent in terms of style and length. The day-to-day cadence of difficulty and focus was also more predictable in this series. This made it easier to fit yoga into my daily schedule. And after these particular 30 days of yoga with Adriene, I felt the most prepared to continue my home practice without YouTube video guidance.

If You’re Looking for Something New

After practicing for a while in a highly structured public yoga class (or the same old YouTube videos), things can start to get stale. Yoga Camp and Yoga Revolution will help you step out of your yoga comfort zone, in slightly different ways. Yoga Camp focuses on the link between mind and body, using mantras to channel energy and breath throughout both gentle and challenging sequences. I found Yoga Revolution to be a bit more instructive, as Adriene discussed alignment, energy, and chakras, for example, throughout the series. Both experiences incorporate a bit of Kundalini Yoga as well, which was new for me, and might be new for you.

I hope these considerations help you Find What Feels Good — whether that’s 30 Days of Yoga, Yoga Camp, or Yoga Revolution! Let me know which one(s) you choose!

It can be hard to slow down in the midst of crazy schedules, memory overload, and the stress and anxiety of everyday responsibilities. But I’ve found that committing to 30 days of Yoga with Adriene (at a time) helps me to create that consistent space in my day to tend to my mind and body. As a Life Organization Coach, I also help my clients build that consistency into their routines as they get organized across many aspects of their lives. Yes, an update would be cool ! I’m just finishing “HOME” which was perfect for me, and I’ve made “30 DAYS” a long time ago. I’m wondering which program would fit for me next…. … YOGA CAMP will be too hard I think (I’m 46 years old and not sportive…)
    I’m wondering if I try 30 DAYS or an other one… …

I am 66 and have taken several yoga classes in my life. I think yoga is the perfect exercise for women my age and recently heard about yoga with Adrienne from a friend. I am currently doing the 30 day challenge HOME but plan to try everything she has on YouTube. Adrienne is easy to follow and I thoroughly enjoy my time with her each day!

Quarantine brought me to yoga, which quickly led me to Adriene. I did the 30 days, but (regardless of whatever day I was on) I either landed on the 2015 ones or the Home ones. So, if I was on day 10 and I saw the Home version of day 10 come up first, I picked that one.
Now that I’m at my 30 day mark, I think I’m going to stick with them all and go in order!
I love this! So much fun, and an easy way to find love in yourself all over again. I’m 33 yrs old this came at just the right time in my life when I was starting to doubt in myself. Stick with it, guys!

Thank you so much for sharing, Alyson! Yes, many of the programs build on each other class after class, so Adriene will refer back to the day before if something is relevant – but the structures of the 30 day challenges are all similar so it’s not a huge gap (I’m on Day Six of Dedicate tomorrow so I KNOW it’ll be “Six Pack Abs”, haha!). I’m so glad you’re enjoying this process. See you on the mat! 😉

That’s amazing, Marcia, great to hear! If you’re leaning into the spiritual benefits of yoga you could try Yoga Revolution. But for something a bit lighter, I’d recommend Dedicate! I’m on Day 22 of that series and will be releasing a review once I finish, but I’m finding it very foundational and consistent. Also, none of Adriene’s series require any specific level of flexibility – she provides modifications for EVERYTHING, which I totally love about her channel! Let me know which series you choose! 💖

Hi, I’m 63, fairly flexible and really love the improved strength and balance I’ve developed during lockdown doing the 30 day home and then 30 day dedicate videos. I want to continue developing good balance in particular and would love a 30 day programme that takes beginner/intermediate through a sequence where they can develop expertise in each pose. I know that to some extent each of the videos does that but a poses led 30 day programme would be sweet! Also which video would you recommend for me next? Thanks!

Thanks for dropping by, Kate! You might want to check out Adriene’s “Foundations of Yoga” playlist, where she has one video for each pose and talks about the theory behind them. I’ll drop the link for that below. That being said, it’s definitely good to have a well-constructed series that gives you a blend of strengthening, balance and restoration. You might enjoy Yoga Camp, which was a bit more technical!

I have come to your blog also looking for the next 30 day programme. I have completed Home at the start of the year and True during the pandemic which took me a lot longer than the 30 days as I lost my mojo from the exhaustion of working from home and then becoming really rundown but I did finish it yesterday! I am also interested how others feel about the day 30 unstructured/improvised final session. I find it the most challenging as I like to follow someone and end up repeating the moves I am most familiar with!
I was wondering which to do next or even to go back to Home? I am also a big fan and enjoy Adriene’s personal motivational comments/observations.

Adrienne saved my mental health during lockdown. I am 68 years old woman and I have done yoga on and off most of my life. It wasn’t until my retirement that I took it up seriously, going to classes 3 times a week. Then lockdown happened and I found Adrienne. I have done 30 days of Home once, Dedicate twice, True twice and Revolution once. Does anyone know of any different 30 days that they can recommend.

Great questions, Maria! True and Revolution were a similar difficulty level, but since some of the practices in Revolution were longer, I’d say that True would be slightly easier overall. I haven’t found any of the 30-day challenges to be heavier on one part of the body vs. the other, but alignment/balance was definitely a big focus for Revolution. That essentially means that your core is getting stronger, even if you don’t realize it! Hope that helps 😊
