How to Get the Best Ending

In general, the nine endings of Assassin's Creed Odyssey differ depending on how many of Kassandra/Alexios' family members remain alive at the end of the game. Here is the short version of how to get this "best" ending:

  • Spare Nikolaos in Chapter 2: The Wolf of Sparta
  • In Chapter 6: Catching Up, tell Myrinne you will save Deimos from the cult.
  • In Ashes to Ashes, save the baby.
  • In Chapter 7: Paint it Red, be kind to Nikolaos and tell him to help Stentor.
  • Don't kill Stentor
  • In A Bloody Feast, tell Myrinne “I’ll bring Deimos back."
  • In A Bloody Feast, tell Deimos "Hold on!" after you fight him.
  • In Doing Time, convince Deimos the cult is manipulating you both. Deimos will say "I am not your puppet," if it worked.
  • Continue to convince Deimos the cult is using him and refuse to fight in Where it all Began.

Saving all of your family members will unlock them as Lieutenants for your ship.

The Blood Fever

Quest: The Blood Fever
This is actually a side quest in the starting area of Kephalonia, but it seems to have far reaching effects on the world.

If you let the infected villagers escape, the sickness will spread across Greece. If you miss the quest by not doing it before you leave the island, or if you choose to not free the infected, the sickness will not spread.

The Wolf of Sparta

Quest: The Wolf of Sparta
Consequence: Killing Nikolaos will prevent him from reuniting with you later, and ultimately affects the ending.

Killing Nikolaos will also prompt a fight with Stentor, though defeating him here won't actually kill him.

Monger Down

Quest: Monger Down

You have two choices to choose from to deal with Korinth's 'The Monger.'

  • Execute The Monger publicly to please Anthousa
  • Take him to be dealt with secretly, to please Brasida

If you publicly execute The Monger, in a quest later, To Kill or Not to Kill, you will have no choice but to kill Lagos the Archon, a cultist who is friends with Brasida.

If you chose to secretly execute the Monger in Monger Down, you will be able to spare him and gain evidence that will condemn a king in the future quest A Bloody Feast. This outcome regains your citizenship to Sparta, and makes it easier to assassinate your next target.

Ashes to Ashes

Quest: Ashes to Ashes
Consequence: Here, you must choose to save a baby from a burning building, or to go after the cultist Chrysis.

Not saving the baby will make it impossible to save all of your family members down the line, but you will get Chrysis' rewards immediately - Legendary Gauntlets of the Immortal from the Immortal Legendary Armor set, and an artifact fragment.

If you save the baby, you will then have access to a side quest nearby that will allow you to kill Chrysis anyway. It's called Death Comes for Us All and can be found at the Northwest Battlegrounds of Argos in Argolis.

Paint it Red

Quest: Paint it Red
Consequence: If you previously spared Nikolaos, he will appear during this quest. Be kind to him in your responses here to keep him around, so you can remain on the path to the "best" ending where everyone sticks around. End the conversation by telling him to go to Stentor if you want the ending where all family members are there.

A Bloody Feast

Quest: A Bloody Feast

To get the best ending where all of your family members are around, tell Myrinne "I'll bring Deimos back."

This may or may not affect the ending, but to be safe if you want the "happiest" one, say, "Hold on!" after fighting Deimos.

Doing Time

Quest: Doing Time

To have the option to spare Deimos in Where it All Began, you must convince Deimos the cult is manipulating you both. Deimos will say "I am not your puppet," if it worked. Here are the options we know works.

  • “It was the prophecy.”
  • “The prophecy said you’d doom Sparta.”
  • “You have no idea what happened on that mountain.”
  • “Our mother searched for you.”

There are two paths that work after this point in the conversation:

  1. “She thought you were dead.” then "I was thrown off, too."
  2. “The cult targeted our family.” then "The cult wants to destroy our family."

Where it All Began

Quest: Where it All Began

Upon climbing the mountain, Deimos will eventually reach you. If he says "My sword is my family," then you are on track to achieving the happy ending. Tell Deimos the cult is using him/her.

Refuse to fight her/him here to finally reach the happy ending.

If you do fight Deimos, he/she will kill your mother and you will be forced to kill her/him.
