Updating your payment method for a single payment will also change your default payment method for future payments to friends. If you have access to a Venmo balance and have enough balance to cover the entire cost of the payment, Venmo will use your balance to pay for your payment (and you won't be able to select a bank or card instead). Otherwise, Venmo will charge the entire cost of the payment to your preferred payment method.
I need to change the payment method for a payment I already sent
It's not possible to change the payment method used after sending a payment. The moment you send a payment on Venmo, the funds are authorized to be withdrawn from the selected payment method and made available to the recipient.
We always recommend double-checking your payment method before sending a payment.
Log into your PayPal account. Within the Pay Later section, click on the specific Pay in 4 plan want to change. Click Change under “Payment Method” to update your information or choose a new way to pay. You'll need to confirm your new payment method before you can use it for repayments.
If you have an unpaid balance, you might not be able to remove a payment method from your Apple ID. In this case, you have to complete the pending Apple ID balance or change your payment method. Then you can remove the payment method from your iPhone.
