How to read transaction details on Etherscan? ›

To check wallet balances and history on Etherscan, go to Etherscan.io, navigate to the search bar, paste the wallet address or ENS domain, and press Enter. On the next page, you can see the ETH balance, total token value, and transaction history.

You can find a token contract page by using the Etherscan search bar and searching for the token by address or token name. After selecting the token you are directed to the token contract page. The token contract page is very similar to an address page.

To find the top token holders, you can use the Token Holders API. This allows you to sort the data based on the token balance in descending order. You can achieve this by using the orderBy filter and sorting by the value of Balance_Amount in descending order.

You can see the error message for your failed transaction by finding the transaction on Etherscan (or the appropriate block explorer for the network you're on) using its transaction hash/ID.

Bank Statements

If you're looking for a transaction ID associated with a bank transaction, check your bank statement. Transaction IDs might be reference numbers or unique identifiers assigned to each transaction by the bank. Look for the applicable transaction ID on your online or physical bank statement.

On the homepage of MetaMask Extension, under the 'Tokens' tab, click on the token whose contract information you want. Then, click on the vertical three dots menu and select 'View asset in explorer'. This action will take you to the token's contract address on the active network.

Use an Ethereum Blockchain Explorer: One of the easiest ways to check the owner of an Ethereum address is to use an Ethereum blockchain explorer. Etherscan is a popular blockchain explorer that allows you to search for transactions, addresses, tokens, and other activities taking place on Ethereum.

Clicking on the ⓘ button next to the token symbol will bring out the token's burn event history (refer to this token page for an example). Holders: This shows the total number of addresses that hold the token.

Popular blockchain explorers include Blockchain.com, Blockchain, and Block Explorer. By entering a Bitcoin address or transaction ID into these explorers, you can access details such as transaction history, timestamps, and the number of confirmations.

You can often identify this code by its starting character, as either the letter “T” or “P” stands before a string of numbers. For example, a transaction ID number may look like this: T1234-5678-9012-3456.

Crypto wallet

If the searcher used a wallet to transfer tokens, they can use its cryptocurrency records to access the transaction history. A wallet records all the registered incoming and outgoing transactions in the history section of the wallet. Click any transaction to view its details.
