This week, I facilitated a course on Navigating Sensitive Feedback Conversations for my new friends at Workday. I'm on a serious mission to disrupt the feedback world, and I am thankful for the teams and leaders who take the time to engage with this work deeply and thoughtfully. People often ask me where to start when it comes to building a strong culture. Here's my answer... Learn how to say all the things that need to be said, and do it with directness, kindness, and utility. ----> Directness ensures clarity----> Kindness fosters trust and respect----> Utility keeps the conversation productive and relevantIt's time to Merge Your Path.Let's go!

As you bring interactive DEIB speakers to your company, please remember that the success of your programming shouldn't be gauged solely by the level of comfort your employees feel or the amount of verbal participation, but rather, by how well they listen.

While in New York for work, I met up with my old college roommate, Joe.—->We sat together face to face outside a coffee shop on Wall St. and talked for a couple of hours before both of us had to get back to our worlds at work.—->Joe, an FBI agent. And me, an Executive and Interpersonal Communications Coach.—->Both of us are straight, cisgender men with a deep love and bond of friendship. We talked about everything and have been there for each other for years.—->When I walked away, I thought about how lucky I was to have that kind of friendship and how so many other men I know, don’t have that. And I think it’s because we are afraid.—->Afraid to build a bond over something other than football, beer, or strength training.—->If we think we are so tough… here’s a challenge… Call one of your male friends and ask to sit down for coffee and sit across the table from one another.—->No talk of sports, or the Roman Empire (lol).Talk about life…—->Who’s down!?#mergeyourpath#executivecoach##executivecoaching
