Pricing
Blockfolio is free to use, CoinStats has a PRO option with monthly ($4.99) and yearly ($39.99) subscriptions. However, all options in Blockfolio that are available for free are free in CoinStats as well. Here you only pay for advanced features that you will not be able to find in Blockfolio.

Also, feel free to request a wallet in case you don’t find it in CoinStats. In the case of Blockfolio, you can only connect and track your exchange accounts

Blockfolio and CoinStats have different pairing strategies. In Blockfolio you can’t buy any other coin with the coin you have. You have to match pairings. In the case of CoinStats, you are free to buy and sell every coin without worrying about the pairing
Favorite Coin vs Watchlist
CoinStats, as well as Blockfolio, have coin favoriting opportunities to track the changes of specific coins. Here is the difference between apps:
Blockfolio automatically adds the portfolio coins into the watchlist and you get notified that “Any holdings associated with this coin will also be removed” any time you decide to remove it from the watchlist.
CoinStats keeps these options separately so nothing will happen if you delete a coin from your lists of favorites
Alerts and Notification differences
CoinStats has a bigger variety of alerts and notifications. You can choose significant change, pump, new pair, team update, portfolio value and even custom notifications for your desired time, while Blockfolio allows only Signal and Price change notifications
Some paradoxical thought about crypto is that on one hand, we want to get updated on every change, on the other hand not to spend our day checking the phone every minute. To solve this problem some really precise and helpful notification system is needed
General vs Sorted News
Blockfolio provides news in general. Seems like this team is not that concentrated on the news section. CoinStats instead has a big variety of news reading options (Handpicked, Trended, Latest). You can vote for the news and add them in bearish and bullish sections, in addition to that CoinStats gives you an opportunity to choose your source and add it to the source of news. You are free to create your all in one crypto news reading platform in this app
Blockfolio Signals VS Coinstats Team Updates
Take your first-hand information on crypto with Blockfolio Signals (BS) which is a first-of-its-kind communications platform built exclusively for token teams to connect and engage with their communities. As an alternative to this CoinStats has its Team Updates where you can find the updates on each crypto while exploring that crypto. In this case, the information is more specific than in Blockfolio where the signals are not sorted and come in general signal page, but Blockfolio has more connections with token teams so you can get more information there
UI/UX Differences
Spending the whole day discovering the features that might be helpful is exhausting. What do we need to gain the needed experience? We need to choose an app that is easy to use. If we are thinking in terms of usability the best solution is CoinStats, when thinking about colors, gradients, UI options we will surely choose Blockfolio. What I value in CoinStats is the “to the point” approach. Do you need to check your portfolio? It’s right on the home page. Do you search for some news? Sure take it, rate it, make it bullish or bearish, add your source and enjoy your time
Blockfolio’s UI is more custom than CoinStats: a lot of colors, portfolio colors that are beautiful but affect the usability. Here you need to choose between Blockfolio UI and CoinStats simplicity
The Difference in Graphs
We can discuss the graph differences with two criteria: the UI and graph update time
UI: You can see both lights like and usual graphs on Blockfolio and CoinStats. In this case, the CoinStats UI is more interactive as it doesn’t show you a static graph but a flexible one. You can swipe with your finger on the graph and get the precise amount/time information. One more UI specifics of CoinStats is that it changes graph colors to the logo color of the most popular coins
Update times of the coins: The update time graphs differ from each other as well. In CoinStats it’s 24 H, 1W, 1M, 3M, 6M and a year. Blockfolio gives you an opportunity to see an hour, 12H, 1D, 3D, 1,3,6 M and 1,2,3 Y updates. Also, both have continuous updates so you can always see what is going on
