Black Code Breakers in World War II at Arlington Hall (2)This event is via ZOOM ONLY

During World War 11, a unit of African American women secretly worked as code breakers in Arlington as part of America’s massive intelligence operation, which employed roughly 10,000 women code breakers. Their command center was Arlington Hall Station, a former women’s junior college that became a key wartime cryptography center. Much more is known about the white women who broke military codes. But African-American code breakers were hidden until historians at the National Security Agency uncovered the details in secret files. They worked on commercial codes and identified companies making deals with our wartime enemies. Help celebrate Black history month by learning about the accomplishments of these men and women.
