What is it, and how do you become one?
I stumbled upon this quote while scrolling through my Instagram feed this morning.
Being a woman of value means embracing your unique strength, standing tall in your worth, and inspire others to do the same.
I love quotes. Don’t we all? The way the words flow captures my attention. It has a way to describe a complex issue within those short sentences. Something I am still struggling to do.
I am sure this is not a coincidence, seeing that I am always on the lookout for articles about self-development, mental health, self-care, and similar topics. The way the algorithms on the internet work is like having a personal fortune-teller. It knows what I usually read, thus presenting me with various contents on different platforms that speak about those topics.
I liked the quotes and decided to write something about them. This is about what the meaning of being a woman of value is and how to be one.
What does it mean to be a woman of value?
A woman of value knows her worth lies not in external validation, but in the strength and grace she carries within herself.
Being a woman of value is more than just outer beauty or material possessions. It is about embracing your worth and living a life that is meaningful and fulfilling.
As women of value, we recognize our worth and own it. Each of us has unique talents, skills, and perspectives that deserve to be seen and heard. It’s not about comparing yourself to others. We are not on the lookout for validation from external sources. It’s about understanding that true value comes from within.
This proved to be a hard thing to achieve. We live in a world that constantly bombards us with messages about what it means to be valuable. We are drowning in those messages, and it was so easy to lose sight of our own self-worth.
How to Become a Woman of Value
It starts with self-reflection and self-awareness.
Take all the time you need to get to know yourself — your passions, your dreams, and your values. Understand what makes you happy and what lights you up from the inside out. When you have a clear understanding of who you are, it becomes easier to live a life that aligns with your true self.
Surround yourself with people who appreciate and value you for who you are.
We are what we surround ourselves with. When you surround yourself with individuals who support your dreams and encourage you to be the best version of yourself, you will become one. There is no need to hold on to toxic relationships in any form that only make you question your worth.
Take care of yourself, both physically and mentally.
This is non-negotiable. Physically, you should exercise regularly, eat healthy and nourishing foods, and make time for joyful activities. Mentally, you can start practicing mindfulness and meditation.
Be curious and keep learning.
We are lifelong learners. Learning is equal to growing. Be curious, and never think for a second that there is nothing more to learn. Make sure to invest in your personal and professional development. Start taking courses, joining a community, attending workshops, or reading books that expand your knowledge, skills, and network.
Treat others with respect and empathy.
Small acts of kindness can have a big impact. It was easy to do: start by listening to others (really listening) without judgment, offer a helping hand, or smile at your colleagues who may need it.
Your value and our value as women are not defined by societal standards. We are worthy. We are not perfect, but we are authentic. We have flaws and imperfections, and that is okay. Embrace your worth, celebrate the highs and lows that come with it, and show them who you are.
Speaking about quotes, I wrote about this before.
