I think those who do not even measure the level of their means enjoy a real freedom. Measuring/counting brings a worry.

Mr Micawber from David Copperfield by Charles Dickens would agree (although he didn't practice what he preached): "Annual income 20 pounds, annual expenditure 19£ 19s and 6d, result happiness. Annual income 20 pounds, annual expenditure 20£ and 6d, result misery"

Jibble doesn’t hire minorities to promote racial equality, nor does it promote women to balance any gender gap.If all my senior management consisted only of white men, or brown ones like me, or black women, I wouldn’t care and I’d do absolutely nothing to change it. I don't enforce any gender or racial equality targets, I don't even count. It makes no sense to me to discriminate in some attempt to skew numbers, I won’t do it. I mean, I won’t ever say, "so, despite James being the better candidate we'll reject him because he's a white male".I’m good with reaching out and encouraging certain groups to apply (e.g. women for coding roles), but once that application is in, it’s a level playing field.Jibble always hires the best person for the job, and promotes those that deserve it most, irrespective of race, religion, gender, age or anything else. In my view, that is the only fair way.

I met a guy who’s net worth is about $500m. He told me that the biggest factor in his financial success was, plain and simple, luck - doors opened without which he’d never have gotten to where he is today.Sure, he played his part, he worked damn hard, but a lot of smarter people work harder and get nowhere.Really refreshing to meet super successful humble people, honestly it made my day. I guess it serves as a little reminder to always be humble, it is such a beautiful quality which positively impacts those around us.It was never just us, success never happens in a vacuum.

Luvly jubbly to see Jibble jump up right to the very top of the Play Store for “attendance app”, at least where I am. 🚀A 👍 to spread the word would be supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

I read the press from around the world to get a balanced view. It's pretty interesting, each country's press has a different slant. The US 🇺🇸 press seems to think that nothing exists outside the US, except China which needs to be stopped. The British 🇬🇧 press can't stop telling the rest of the world what to do.The Indian 🇮🇳 press is actually pretty balanced on world affairs, a reflection of India needing to stay neutral. Newspapers are full of economic progress and big domestic deals taking place. The Isreali 🇮🇱 press is the most depressing, it's war here, invasion there, which country should it attack next. The Malaysian 🇲🇾 press needs to make sure they keep their government-issued licenses, so they can't stop going on about good work the government has been doing. If a reporter finds out a senior government official did a dump in the loo, they'll find a way to put some positive spin on it.The Russian 🇷🇺 press questions everything, except when it comes to Russia and its invasion of the Ukraine. And the Chinese 🇨🇳 press is constantly going on about One China and China building bridges with the world. If you don't already read foreign newspapers, you should, it's easy to read them via apps such as Pressreader. Reading the same newspaper, or even press from the same country, every day is a great way to become narrow-minded.

I just gave my son some life advice. Many here won’t agree, but many will and be afraid to say it. I’m sharing it here because I feel both sides, including my side, need to be heard. So, here it is. Men and women are NOT the same, they are biologically different. And thus there are certain positive feminine traits and certain positive masculine traits.Men are generally attracted to feminine traits, women to masculine ones. These traits are fairly universal with time and across cultures because they’re innate, they're driven by biology. They help make societies and economies productive and successful. Now sure, many traits are positive for both men and women, such as integrity, but many aren’t, or at least are positive for one gender and perhaps neutral for another. The key thing is this, as a young man, adopt positive masculine traits, aspire to be and don't be afraid of being a real man.

C'mon, this has to be the way forward! 😎So, I've been in KL, Malaysia, with a friend, for a week, working from cafes, meeting friends, tons of walking and running, and re-started jiu-jitsu.Last night, my family came over to join me, and here we are.Isabelle's the finance director of Jibble and head of PayrollPanda customer success, so she's getting on with that.On her right, Maryam, is doing some stuff for her Arabic and French degree at Oxford. Then we have Sabeen, she's learning Arabic for fun, she's got nothing to do for two years before she’s off to Cambridge to do Land Law, so is doing whatever she wants. And then Danyal is coding away, he has a full-time remote job at Jibble.Oh, then there's me, getting on with running Jibble straight after I send this.Amazing weather, great coffee, freedom galore, some conversation, the odd family quarrel 😤, what more could we want? This has to be the way forward. Thanks to remote working and homeschooling what we're doing really isn't hard to get to...

Quick tip. If you're working the weekend or late in the evening, don't keep slipping it into conversations with your colleagues, it really does not look good on you.

I’ve learned basic Malaysian 🇲🇾 by chatting to Grab (Uber) drivers, a really fun and time effective way to learn a language.Never had any lessons.I’m not that bad, eh?! 😬Listen, use your time effectively for better living! I mean, I often get life advice from older drivers, their experience can be so valuable, try it!
