If you don't need the scale of the iPad Pro, but want something more exciting than the 9th Gen iPad, the 2022 iPad Air's addition of an M1 processor helps future-proof it when it comes to running those ever-increasing power-hungry apps. If you own the 2020 model then there's little upgrade appeal, but for everyone else this is a super iPad.

Don't get me wrong, the iPad Air is a highly capable tablet with plenty of power, solid battery life, and a lightweight and portable design. The versatility is also a plus, giving me the ability to switch between using the same device as a laptop, a notepad, and a TV. But I'm willing to give that all up in exchange for a MacBook laptop with intuitive, proven software.

What you get with the Air is the same performance, capability, portability, and operating system, plus compatibility with the same accessories. It’s a nice upgrade for someone coming from an older iPad with a home button. Really, that’s just it. The iPad Air is the nice one.
