Ingredients in Apple Cranberry Walnut Green Chopped Salad:
- Romaine lettuce (chopped)
- Apples (or pears)
- Dried cranberries
- Chopped walnuts (or pecans/almonds)
- Bacon (crisp and crumbled)
- Feta cheese (crumbled)
- Poppyseed salad dressing
- Balsamic Vinaigrettedressing
How To Make Apple Cranberry Walnut Green Chopped Salad:
When starting out grab your lettuce, apples, cranberries, walnuts, bacon, and feta cheese and combine them all in your large mixing bowl.
Next, you will combine the balsamic vinaigrette with the poppy seed dressing in your smaller bowl.
NOTE: Be sure you are using balsamic vinaigrette dressing NOT plain balsamic vinegar.
Drizzle this over your salad right before you serve it.
Prefer more dressing? Test out different mixtures with these dressings to find your perfect combination.
The salad will get soggy if the dressing is left on any leftovers, so be sure to only add dressing to the salad you plan to eat right away.
Now simply serve and enjoy!

Pro Tips for making Apple Cranberry Walnut Chopped Salad:
Lightly toast your walnut, pecans, or almonds by spreading them in a thin layer on a baking sheet and baking them for around 8-10 minutes at 350 degrees.
Soak your chopped apples in a lemon/water bath for a few minutes before adding them to the salad to keep them from turning brown.
Make your own dried cranberries! While dried cranberries are easy enough to get at the store, they are also simple to make on your own! Try out this recipe for sugar free dried cranberries.

Ingredients
- 8 cups chopped romaine lettuce
- 2 apples (pears also work great)
- 1 cup dried cranberries (Craisins)
- 1 cup chopped walnuts (pecans or almonds are also a great substitution)
- 8 slices bacon (crisp-cooked and crumbled)
- 5 ounces feta cheese (crumbled)
- ¾ cup poppyseed salad dressing (we used Brianna's brand)
- ¼ cup balsamic vinaigrette dressing (make sure that you use vinaigrette dressing and not balsamic vinegar)
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine the lettuce, apples, cranberries, walnuts, bacon, and feta cheese.
In a smaller bowl, combine poppy seed dressing with balsamic vinaigrette. Drizzle over salad right before serving. If you prefer your salad to have more dressing, feel free to experiment with the combination.
Notes
- If you are not going to be eating it all in one sitting, only put dressing on what you will be eating or it will get all soggy.
- For this recipe, any type of apple will work. I love gala, honeycrisp, pink lady, and granny smith apples. Pears also work great as well!
- Nutrition facts will vary based on how much dressing you use per serving and what brand of dressing you use.
