All Truth and Lie Options - Lies of P Guide - IGN (2024)

As you journey through the city of Krat in Lies of P, you'll be presented with opportunities with multiple choice options - one lie and one truth. But which are which? And what are the consequences?

This page acts as a comprehensive breakdown of every Truth and Lie option within Lies of P in chronological order.

NOTE: This page will, by its nature, contain minor and major spoilers for various segments of the game.

All Truth & Lie Opportunities

While you can choose to tell the truth or lie whenever you want, it is HIGHLY advised to stick to just lying or just telling the truth within a given playthrough. There are no benefits for switching back and forth, but you'll get unique Records, Gestures, and Items for fully committing to one or the other. For example, the "Golden Lie" special weapon will require you to fully lie in order to gain the weapon (once fully grown) from Geppetto's room in Hotel Krat.

Certain "Lies" or "Truths" aren't technically lies or truths, but are aligned with given choices that you'll want to stick to within either a Lie or Truth playthrough.

Elysion Boulevard Window Woman

From the "Inside the House on Elysion Boulevard" Stargazer, head across the rooftops and through the house further down the path. As you approach the courtyard where the large police officer puppet patrols, you'll see the silhouette of a woman in a window on the middle platform of the scaffolding. Speak with her and she'll ask you to find her baby.

Shortly after you reach the "Krat City Hall" Stargazer, you'll see a large puppet on the right. Defeat it and you can then collect the puppet doll item off the ground. Bring it back to the woman and you'll be presented with a choice:

• Lie: That's a cute baby
• Truth: That's just a puppet

First Encounter With Alidoro

After reaching the "St. Frangelico Cathedral Library" Stargazer, take the closest elevator up to meet with Alidoro the Hunter on the balcony. He will ask you where a safe haven is:

• Lie: Venigni Works
• Truth: Hotel Krat

If you lie, you can then meet him at the "Workshop Union Entrance" Stargazer. Head up the stairs by the Stargazer and into the small room on the left with the hole in the floor to find him. He will chastise you, and you are presented another choice:

• Lie: Elysion Boulevard
• Truth: Hotel Krat

Julian the Gentleman

As you travel through Rosa Isabelle Street and reach the "Rosa Isabelle Street Culvert" Stargazer after defeating The White Lady, you'll find a man to the right of the Stargazer asking you to find his wife's belongings.

After progressing through the sewers below and further through the zone, you'll arrive at a street encased in flame. As you cross the bridge and down the steps towards the street, you'll find the wife (a puppet) against the wall.

Collect the item from the floor then return to Julian. You are given a choice:

• Lie: I saw the message she left, saying she loves you
• Truth: I've never seen that happen before

Antonia/Polendina

After defeating the King of Puppets in Estella Opera House, return to Hotel Krat and speak with Antonia. You are given a choice:

• Lie: Of course
• Truth: There's nothing left

Immediately afterwards, check Polendina's counter at the front desk for the letter, then go up the stairs and out into the garden ahead. Speak with Polendina and you are given another choice:

• Lie: There's no such puppet
• Truth: I have/Show the wedding ring (only an option if you complete the Julian Truth/Lie above)

Simon Manus in Grand Exhibition

After defeating Champion Victor, you'll automatically begin a conversation with Simon Manus. You are given a choice here:

• Lie: Monsters
• Truth: Hope for a cure

Eugenie's Gloves

After finding Alidoro near the bridges within Barren Swamp (unmissable), teleport back to Hotel Krat and speak with Eugenie who'll give you a set of gloves to deliver to Alidoro.

Head back to the Barren Swamp, give Alidoro the gloves, then return to Eugenie once more. A choice appears:

• Lie: He was happy
• Truth: He was angry. He said the gloves were rubbish

Belle

After finding Belle in the Grand Exhibition as you explore, speak with her after the earthquake and she'll ask you to find her friend in Krat Central Station (after the earthquakes).

From the "Krat Central Station" Stargazer, go to the right and head down the stairs. From there, turn around and you'll be able to enter an open train car. Inside the NPC will give you a letter after speaking to him. Return to Belle in Hotel Krat and you're given a choice:

• Lie: He was killed in battle
• Truth: He's become a monster

Venigni's Decoder

Once you've defeated the Black Rabbit Brotherhood for the second time within the Relic of Trismegistus, head back to Venigni and he'll give you a transmission. A choice appears:

• Lie: I couldn't hear
• Truth: Geppetto caused the Puppet Frenzy

Eugenie

If you kill "Alidoro" near the "Relic of Trismegistus Combat Field" Stargazer, go to Hotel Krat and have Venigni decode his Cryptic Vessel, read the description in your Collectible menu, then speak with Eugenie at her station:

• Lie: I think he was just a talented Stalker
• Truth: The real Alidoro was murdered by the fake one

King of Riddles/Arlecchino

As you explore near the "Arche Abbey Outer Wall" Stargazer, you'll find the last Trinity Sanctum nearby. Unlocking it with The Chosen One's Trinity Key gifted over the phone, you'll find Arlecchino against the far wall. Speak with him for a choice:

• Lie: Human
• Truth: Puppet

Sophia

Immediately after the Laxasia The Complete boss fight, head up to the tower and you'll find Sophia in the center of the room. Whilst speaking to her, you are given a choice:

• Lie: Give her peace
• Truth: Let her live

Geppetto

Once you find Geppetto in the prison cell shortly after the "Arche Abbey Upper Part - Internal Bridge" Stargazer, you're presented an option:

• Lie: Yes
• Truth: No

Simon Manus - Cradle of God

Once you've defeated the Simon Manus Awakened God boss, you'll automatically trigger a conversation in which he will ask what you did with Sophia:

• Lie (If you gave her peace): I gave her peace
• Truth (If you let her live): I liberated her from Arche Abbey
