RECIPE FAQs

How long does it take to cook prime rib in an Airfryer?

The total cook time in the Air Fryer is sixty-five minutes. Keep in mind the meat does need to rest for twenty minutes before slicing it. This will ensure your meat turns out nice & juicy! By allowing it to rest, the juices can saturate the meat. If you cut too soon, you risk it being on the dryer side as you will lose lots of juice as it leaves the meat.

How do you cook with an air fryer?

An Air Fryer is a great option for cooking many different types of foods. It makes for an easy way to cook meat especially. The air fryer is basically a convection oven that sits on your countertop! It creates the taste of frying food without actually frying the food in oil. Instead, a fan circulates hot air evenly, cooking the food quickly and giving it that crispy outer layer that we all love. To cook with an Air Fryer, preheat it, stick the food in it, and wait a few minutes for the magic to happen!

Can you put raw meat in Airfryer?

Absolutely! That is one of the beauties of the Air Fryer and this recipe for Prime Rib. After seasoning the meat, place the raw meat in the basket to cook.

  • Simple Roasted Brussels Sprouts

When Is Your Prime Rib Roast Done?

It’s no secret that prime rib is one of the most expensive cuts of meat. That’s why it’s usually reserved for holidays and special occasions. For properly cooked prime rib, it’s imperative that you get yourself a good instant-read thermometer.

Prime rib is best served rare, medium-rare, or medium. Below are the temperatures to each. Make sure you insert the thermometer into thethickest part of the roast to get an accurate reading.

  • 115 degrees F for rare.
  • 120 degrees for medium-rare.
  • 130 degrees F for medium.

Once the roast reaches the temperature for your desired doneness, it’s time to take it out of the air fryer. It’s not done quite yet, instead it’s time to rest the prime rib roast for 20 minutes.

Allowing the roast time to rest will ensure your meat turns out nice and juicy! If you cut too soon, you risk it being on the dryer side as you will lose lots of juice as it leaves the meat.

After the 20 minute rest, then your prime rib roast is done!
