What is the post HND program in Nigeria? ›

The Programme is aimed at upgrading and strengthening the academic background of holders of Higher National Diploma (HND) in Engineering Discipline, to improve their managerial skills and engineering competence and efficiency on their job, as well as ensure their enhanced industrial productivity.

The HND Conversion Programme is designed to help upgrade HND and Certified Professionals to B.Sc Degrees. The Conversion programme is designed to run for one year (2) semesters.

After a Higher National Diploma (HND), students usually opt for a bachelor's degree. An HND is a vocational qualification equivalent to the first two years of a bachelor's degree.

An HND takes two years of full-time study, or one year full-time following successful completion of a Higher National Certificate; part-time study takes longer. In Nigeria, HND is a continuation of a National Diploma (ND-[equivalent to associate degree]) programme, both offered by polytechnics.
