Why won't it let me add money to Apple cash? ›

After you set up Apple Cash¹, you can add money to your balance using the debit or prepaid cards² that you already use with Apple Pay in Wallet. If you don't already have one of these cards in Wallet, you need to add one before you can add money. then tap Add Money.

If you can't send or receive money, you might have to verify your identity to continue using Apple Cash. Learn more about identity verification and what to do if your account is restricted or locked. To get help with a transaction or payment, contact us.

Respond to a request for payment on iPhone or iPad

Open the request in the Messages app, then tap Pay on the message. Review the amount to send. Tap the Send button to continue. Or you can change the amount, and then tap Send.

If you don't have enough money in your Apple Cash balance to send a payment, you can pay the remainder with your debit card.

You cannot directly transfer money from Cash App to Apple Pay. Apple Pay is a digital wallet that allows you to make payments using your eligible Apple devices, such as your iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch. It is not a bank account, so you cannot directly transfer money to it.

Check for iOS, iPadOS, or watchOS updates. Make sure that your device is eligible to use with Apple Pay. Make sure that you have a Wi-Fi or cellular connection. If you're transferring money to a debit card, make sure that it's an eligible debit card.

If your Apple Cash account is in review

If your account is restricted while under review, you can't send or receive money with Apple Cash, or add money to your account. If your account is locked while under review, you also can't transfer money to your bank or make purchases with Apple Pay.

What's the difference between Apple Cash and Apple Pay? Apple Cash is a digital card in Wallet that lets you send and receive money in Messages or Wallet. The money you receive appears on your Apple Cash card in Wallet. You can spend it however you like in stores, online, and in apps with Apple Pay.

Here are the limits: Per transaction, you can add a minimum of $10. Per transaction, you can add up to $10,000. Within a 7-day period, you can add a maximum of $10,000.

The minimum amount that you can transfer to your bank account is $1. If your balance is less than $1, you can transfer your total balance as an exception to the minimum. The maximum amount that you can transfer per transaction is $10,000. Make sure you aren't using accents when you enter your name.

Per message, you can send or receive a minimum of $1. Per message, you can send or receive up to $10,000. Within a 7-day period, you can send or receive a maximum of $10,000.
