Founding Era – Lumifi's Journey Begins

Lumifi (initially Datashield) was established, spearheading the industry with a focus on log and packet capture. This venture, supported by RSA, EMC Ventures, and visionary CEO Michael Malone, marked the beginning of our innovative approach to cybersecurity.

Expansion through Expert-Managed Services

In tune with evolving customer requirements, we expanded our repertoire to include expert-managed services, enhancing our capabilities in monitoring, security analysis, and troubleshooting.

Advancing Security Frontiers

We introduced a log base SIEM and proactive managed services solutions, responding to the increasing demand for advanced security measures. This period also saw us becoming a trusted white-labeled MSS solution for RSA NetWitness, catering to both middle market and enterprise customers.

Enhancing Real-Time Threat Detection

Facing the challenge of escalating cybersecurity threats, we added a managed service layer to our offerings, focusing on real-time threat detection and rapid response, and solidifying our partnership with RSA/EMC.

Pioneering Managed Detection and Response (MDR)

We introduced a high-touch MDR solution, a first in the industry, in collaboration with RSA and ACD. This initiative was driven by the growing need for proactive threat detection and swift incident response in cybersecurity.

Automation and Cross-Customer Threat Awareness

Our journey towards automation began with the evolution of ShieldVision, enhancing automatic threat detection and enabling analysts to perform cross-customer threat hunting, improving awareness and response to emerging threats.

Acquisition and Expansion Acquired by ADT

We focused on internal capacity building, creating a dedicated team for threat detection content and expanding our support to Azure Sentinel and Carbon Black, enhancing our SOC visibility and adhering to the latest industry standards.

Broadening Technology Support

We continued to expand our technological capabilities, adding support for Extrahop, SentinelOne, Defender for Endpoint, Cortex XDR, and CrowdStrike. Additionally, we integrated SOAR capability within ShieldVision for automated responses to validated threats.

Lumifi's Reacquisition of DataShield

After reacquiring DataShield, Lumifi introduced 'BackQuery' to ShieldVision, a pivotal innovation that significantly accelerates investigation processes and enhances analyst efficiency.

Strategic Acquisition of Castra

Lumifi acquired Castra, aligning with our goal of employing top talent and performers. This acquisition brought in expertise from various sectors and enhanced our capabilities in Machine Learning and SOC operations.

Next-Generation ShieldVision

AI Assisted Automation aims to achieve a new level of proficiency in dynamic contextual data ingestion from diverse sources, reinforcing its status as a front-runner in cybersecurity innovation and Managed Detection and Response (MDR) solutions.
