Make sure your strategy can be executed

A strategy is a general direction set for an organization to achieve a desired state in the future.
It is a process, not a one-time event. As conditions and capabilities change, your strategy should change.
A strategy is about executing the right activities that support the approach.
Today and tomorrow.
Many companies only plan yearly, and the document is cast in stone, archived, and sometimes forgotten about.
Then the business and marketplace change, impacting a strategy. If the policy is not constantly evolving to the changing conditions, the strategy won’t be one for long.
Companies also run into the trouble of overcommitting on things. They may say “yes” to too many ideas, and that taxes their resources. They might have a customer who uses too many resources, or they may need to turn down a new customer because they are too big.
Strategy is about choosing what not to do as much as it is deciding what to do. Without a trade-off, there would be no need to have a strategy. A strategy is about choice and choosing the right things to focus on.
