Yes, you can close your Coinbase account at any time and open a new Coinbase account.
However, you may need to use a new email address to open a new account with Coinbase depending on how long it has been since you closed the original.

2) How to Delete a Coinbase Account? (Step-By-Step)
**Note: Deleting your account will cancel any pending purchases (e.g., pending sell orders or any pending withdrawal requests) as well as refund any remaining funds in that account.**
- First, log into your Coinbase Account (it’s the 1st option on the top-right menu bar).
- Next, click on Accounts and then select View My Account. On the left sidebar, click the “Delete my account” link.
- Choose how you’d like to delete your account by following the text links or selecting the radio buttons accordingly.
If you have a verified app, click to open the form:
Fill out all the information on the page. If you can’t provide additional information for us like an email address or phone number, feel free just to hit “Yes,” and we’ll be able to provide you with some assistance.
Once you’ve filled out all the necessary fields, your account is deleted in 10-15 business days. We only offer this option to verified users, so if your order hasn’t already been completed, our software won’t execute any transactions after this page has been submitted. It means your funds will remain safe! We may reach out to help when your order has been executed.
How to Delete on iPhone?
If you are an iPhone user and want to delete your Coinbase account, you can do so as follows:
- Go to your phone settings screen and scroll down until you see the option titled “apps.”
- Click on the App named “Coinbase (Free)” and then press on the red “X” in the top right corner of that App. It will open a dropdown menu with a list of all the apps installed on your phone.
- Scroll through and select the option marked “settings” for Coinbase (Free)
- Look at the top right of the screen, and you will see an option marked “help.” Click on that button.
- Scroll down until you see a section titled “Privacy & Security,” and then click on it.
- Scroll until you find the section labeled “Delete Account,” and then click on it.
- In the next screen, scroll down to the bottom where it says “Delete Account,” and then click on “Delete Account” to confirm your decision to delete your Coinbase account.
- Click on “Delete account” again to confirm your decision to delete your Coinbase account. You will then see a message telling you that we are deleting your account.
How to Delete on Android?
If you are an Android user and want to delete your Coinbase account, you can do so as follows:

- Choose the Coinbase Trading app that you want to remove from your device.
- Select “Uninstall.”.

- Scroll down until you see a section titled “Apps” or “App Store.” Find Coinbase’s listing in the list and tap on it.

Note: You may be prompted to enter your phone’s passcode. For security reasons, please do not leave this field blank.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to delete your Coinbase Wallet. You may remove some Coinbase Wallet funds from your wallet, but we will keep all the addresses associated with that wallet, and you’ll need to send all of your funds from that wallet back to Coinbase before you can lose them.
5) Does Deleting Coinbase Delete Coinbase Pro?
No. Deleting Coinbase doesn’t delete Coinbase Pro. Coinbase Pro is a separate app, and it is deleted separately.
If you want to access your Coinbase Pro funds, you will need to log in to our website with the same account credentials you used for your Coinbase account before deleting your account, and then withdraw the rest of your funds from the Pro app by going through the App Store.
6) How Do I Delete a Payment Method on Coinbase?
You can delete a payment method on Coinbase by going to the settings page for that payment method and then following these steps:
- On your iPhone, go to “Settings” → “Payment methods” → “<your payment method name>” (for example, for your credit card, go to “Settings” → “Credit cards” → “Credit card”).
- Click the Edit button next to that payment method in the Payment methods section
- Scroll down until you see the “Delete this payment method” section, and then click on that option.
- Click “Submit.” You will be asked to confirm the deletion of this payment method on your Coinbase account by clicking “Delete.” It can take up to 24 hours, but it should happen automatically if your transaction has been confirmed before now.

You can deactivate Coinbase by doing the following:
