100 Cricut Projects to Sell to Make Money with Cricut (2024)

Let's talk about making money from home--I'm going to share everything I know in this blog post about working from home selling handmade goods!

Everyone could use a little extra income--right? I love that I have found ways to earn income from the comfort of raising my children and wearing pajamas. It's turned into a profitable business and I have the best time creating!

I usually like to have a few avenues of income coming in...and this is one of my (and my craft room)'s favorites.

I love myCricut Maker 3&Cricut Maker, they are equally amazing, thebest Cricut machineand definitely worth their weight in gold.

Apart from its value, I still like to have myCricut Machinework for me...it needs to pay rent for sitting on my desk and taking up space. I have a Cricut Joy as well, but find it doesn't get nearly as much use as my Cricut Maker Machine.

I love making money from home and using aCricut Machineto do it! There's lots of ways to do it. Just like any business venture, there is initial investments and costs...and no guarantee for success, but I'd love to share how I've made it work for me...I'm sharing all my Cricut business ideas!

Step One:

Selling crafts made with Cricut (or starting a Cricut craft business) has become a popular avenue for creative entrepreneurs doing online sales or a regular craft show, blending a creative outlet with the potential for a thriving crafting business on their own time.

The Cricut, a versatile cutting machine, empowers creators to craft an array of personalized items, from vinyl decals to intricately cut paper designs.

Leveraging these creations into a profitable venture to make a lot of money requires a strategic approach.

If you don't get the maker, you'll always wish you did--it's a great tool and my best friend.

The Maker andcost of materialsis pricy, however, sometimes you can find a better price or a giant bundle with it. I love bundles.

Plus, it can all be used as an expense for a new business on taxes.

First things first: Buy aCricut Machine. (If you can swing for theadditional cost, get theMaker 3--it's 10X the power and has the adaptive tool set...great for the knife blade, scoring tools and fabric rotary blade).

Check out these bundles:

It's great to get a bundle because then you have some supplies to get started. It's a great way to get going--you can purchase additional tools as you start to sell things.

Step Two:

Get inspiration!

The first step to inspiration if doing market research. A good idea is to research the items you are interested in selling--see how well they do and if it feels oversaturated.

Joining facebook groups, browsing Pinterest and searching Etsy can be an easy wayand best places to get inspiration, ask questions and surround yourself with others that have made Cricut their business.

  • Watch out for spammy content and don't buy things from people there, as many turn out to be scams. (I see this happen all the time and it's heartbreaking--people AREN'T getting rid of all their craft supplies--they are scamming you)⬅️
  • Buy physical products from reputable sites with insurance and return policies.⬅️

Try not to get hung up in the R&D stage of your Cricut business or the return on your investment will take much longer.

Don't try to make everything at once. Pick one or 2 products to make and then market and sell the finished product before diving into the next one.

Step Three:

Start making things! Start with Cricut Design Space and make a project that's already tried and true. Maybe all you can start with is something simple, like a bumper sticker. Make just one and take fabulous pictures of it--use daylight in a open concept flay lay for the bestquality products.

Then post it for sale. When it sells, have your machine cut one more out, ready to ship. Bumper stickers are perfect because they are simple and cheap to ship. You'll need Vinyl and Transfer Tape.

Cricut Access is an inexpensive way to have access to a huge library of files that are made to work seamlessly on any Cricut Machine--no graphic design experience needed!

After using pre-designed files, you can make your own designs and possibly start your own product line! Design Software like Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop are great tools, although much design work can be done right in Cricut Design Space. (a Cricut Access subscription can be very economical)

Once money starts coming in, you can invest in new supplies and things like theCricut EasyPress 2andCricut Brightpad.

When you are ready to scale up your business...you can invest in a heat press machine, sublimation printers and many other tools and different materials to make your crafting business versatile.

Step Four:

Now branch out and make all the things! My general rule of thumb is: If you ever make an item for a gift or for yourself, make one extra to sell. (make 2 of everything)

I use a variety of Cricut products; permanent vinyl, iron-on vinyl, flocked vinyl, balsa wood and more--quality products can be found from other sources as well.

Establishing an online presence is paramount. Utilizing platforms like Etsy, Shopify, or personal websites provides a global marketplace for Cricut crafters to showcase their creations. High-quality photographs that highlight the intricate details of the crafts are crucial for attracting potential customers.

A well-curated online shop, coupled with engaging product descriptions, enhances the overall shopping experience.

The power of social media should not be underestimated. Platforms like Instagram and Pinterest serve as visual mediums to showcase Cricut crafts, allowing crafters to connect with a wider audience.

Consistent and creative content, coupled with relevant hashtags, can significantly increase visibility and attract potential customers.

Building a brand identity sets Cricut-made crafts apart in a crowded market. Whether it's a specific aesthetic, a signature style, or a unique packaging approach, a cohesive brand identity creates a memorable and recognizable presence. Crafters should consider incorporating personal stories or behind-the-scenes glimpses to connect with customers on a deeper level.

Repeat the process and enjoy success!

What Sells the Most with Cricut?

One of the key advantages of selling Cricut-made crafts is the limitless customization.

From personalized apparel--custom t-shirts to home decor, customers are drawn to unique, one-of-a-kind items that reflect their individual style.

This allows you as the crafter to cater to niche markets, creating a more personalized and engaging shopping experience for your individual clientele. (if you are into galaxy, space and crystals--find a market that loves that stuff too--like a Rock Show Convention as opposed to a Motor Boat Show.)

Some of the best things to sell are the $10 or less items. I like to fill a whole table at craft fairs with $10 and under products--this usually helps with the impulse buys especially if there are a lot of things to choose from.

How to Price Craft Items for SALE

Pricing strategies should be well-thought-out. Factoring in material costs, labor, and a reasonable profit margin ensures sustainability.

Offering bundle deals or discounts for repeat customers can foster loyalty.

Giveaways are a good way to gain a following or gauge interest. Make sure the giveaway is benefitting you rather than just creating temporary followers that will "like" for the giveaway and then quickly "dislike".

You want to find your people...lots of people.

Where to Sell Handmade Cricut Crafts:

There are many places to sell handmade crafts.

Start with locals, friends and family: Let them know you can do Cricut customization, family reunion shirts, adhesive vinyl, etc.

Farmers Markets: Find out if your city or one nearby has regular farmers markets. They typically have an artisan section and are not too expensive to set up for every weekend of the Summer.

Business Outreach: Reach out to local businesses about making shirts, totes, coasters, keychains or other merchandise for them.

Selling on online shops, like an Etsy shop or launching your own online store or own website is a great tool for getting your products to your target market.

Even Facebook Marketplace is a great tool to get selling to a target audience in your spare time.

If you get good at making custom and unique cut files, selling file types is another great income revenue stream, without a lot of work.

THINGS TO WATCH FOR:

  • Finding products or digital files that have a commercial license or commercial use--vs personal use licenses. (if you are just making personal projects you can use any file or theme)
  • Cricut Angel Policy (what Cricut creations you are allowed to sell)
  • Free svg files (make sure they have commercial use allowed and use them)
  • Shipping Costs (make sure if you are shipping product that shipping is included in the price)
