10 Top Brunch Spots in the Financial District (The Hungry Foodie) (1)

Finding great brunch in the Financial District is a tall ask. Which isn’t surprising, considering the area is best known for the 9-5 crowd. Unlike most NYC neighborhoods, the Financial District mellows out on the weekends, but that doesn’t mean you’ll go hungry. Here’s a roundup of my favorite neighborhood haunt, enjoy!

The Malt House

Website: The Malt House
Address:
9 Maiden Ln, New York, NY
Brunch hours:
Saturday & Sunday, 11 AM – 4 PM

Serving craft beers, creative co*cktails and delicious brunch fare, The Malt House is a prime destination for boozy brunch in the Financial District. With the purchase of an entree, you’ll get 90 minutes of bottomless brunch co*cktails.

There are the standard mimosas and sangrias along with a few unique drinks like the maltmosa, made with wheat beer, champagne, and orange juice. The dishes are solid, but ultimately, the bottomless drinks are why locals keep coming back for more.

Cowgirl SeaHorse

Website: Cowgirl SeaHorse
Address:
259 Front St, New York, NY
Brunch hours:
Saturday & Sunday, 11 AM – 4 PM

A hodgepodge of different cuisines, Cowgirl Seahorse blends the flavors of Tex-Mex, Gulf Coast seafood, and southern-styled restaurants. Fish tacos, chicken & waffles, and gravy & eggs make this a can’t miss Financial District brunch restaurant. They have one of the biggest brunch menus in the neighborhood!

Furthermore, the decorations and charm of the restaurant set the tone from the second you walk in. Call it Southern hospitality, but the staff is welcoming. I’ve never had a bad experience at Cowgirl Seahorse (and I’ve visited nearly a dozen times!).

The Paris Cafe

Website: The Paris Cafe
Address:
119 South Street, 119 Peck Slip, New York, NY 10038
Brunch hours:
Saturday & Sunday from 11am-4pm

The Paris Cafe is one of New York City’s oldest establishments dating back 150+ years ago to 1873. Thomas Edison, Teddy Roosevelt, and Bob Dylan have all been patrons of this famed Financial District brunch hot-spot. The menu is small and features classic dishes like avocado toast, pancakes, and eggs benedict.

Harry’s

Website: Harry’s
Address:
1 Hanover Square, New York, NY 10004
Brunch hours:
Sunday, 11:30 AM – 5 PM

Every Sunday, Harry’s offers a “bottomless” champagne brunch special. With the purchase of an entree, you can enjoy 90 minutes of complimentary champagne with your meal but might need to be a bit proactive with the waitstaff to make the most of it.

La Parisienne

Website: La Parisienne
Address:
9 Maiden Ln, New York, NY 10038
Brunch hours:
Daily until 4 PM

If you’ve ever visited France, you’ll feel at home in La Parisienne. This FiDi brunch destination is owned and operated by a French couple that curates a vibe reminiscent of Paris’s shoebox-sized cafes. The menu consists of a small array of breakfast staples like ham & cheese croissants, french toast, and various “croque” plates.

Each meal has fresh ingredients that translate to colorful and vibrant dishes, and the service is friendly and quick. However, this isn’t the type of brunch restaurant in the Financial District for extended stays chatting over coffee.

Due to limited seating La Parisienne asks folks to be mindful of the need to seat more patrons and only linger for a short time after enjoying their meals.

Industry Kitchen

Website: Industry Kitchen
Address:
70 South St, New York, NY 10005
Brunch hours:
Saturday & Sunday, 11 AM – 4 PM

Industry Kitchen is a waterfront restaurant that’s sports a modern and chic vibe offering unobstructed views of the East River. In terms of cuisine, they cover the gamut at Industry Kitchen. There are all sorts of dishes, from strawberry shortcake waffles and grilled pinwheel sausages to lobster omelets and wood-fired pizzas.

This Financial District brunch joint checks all the boxes as far as meet-up spaces go. You can get together with friends for a drink, link up with a date, or treat the in-laws to a relaxing weekend brunch.Half the city seems to consider Industry Kitchen some of the best brunch in the Financial District so make reservationsin advance to avoid long waits.

Hole In The Wall

Website: Hole In The Wall
Address:
15 Cliff St, New York, NY 10038
Brunch hours:
Daily from 9am-4pm

Bright and offering curated dishes, the menu at Hole In The Wall rotates with the seasons to keep their ingredients fresh. This Australian eatery provides classic, knock-out brunch fare.

I recommend the avocado smash which takes traditional avocado toast up a notch by adding cherry tomatoes, pickled onions, beets, and pumpkin seeds.

Hole In The Wall is also a great brunch joint in the Financial District for innovative co*cktails. Some standouts are the Brazilian Sunrise (rum, shochu, passionfruit, grapefruit juice, prosecco) and the Paloma Royale (tequila, lime, grapefruit juice, agave, prosecco).

Suited

Website: Suited
Address:
45 John St, New York, NY
Brunch hours:
Daily from 8:30am-5pm

In an area full of business suit-clad locals, Suited is a fitting name for one of the best coffee shops in the Financial District. Turns out the great coffee is only half the story, the homemade baked goods and brunch offerings are worth a detour too.

From buttermilk fried chicken sandwiches and breakfast burritos to pancakes and smoked trout nicoise, Suited is just as much a restaurant as a cafe in my book.

Malibu Farm

Website: Malibu Farm
Address:
89 South St, New York, NY 10038
Brunch hours:
Saturday & Sunday, 11 AM – 3 PM

Next to The Fulton on Pier 17 is Malibu Farm, another excellent spot for brunch in the Financial District. Malibu Farm is more of a fun, casual spot – part of a chain of restaurants that stem from Malibu, California. You can almost feel the relaxed, sunny atmosphere.

The food has a farm-to-table approach, and each plate is colorful and savory. A non-negotiable dish for me is the hot skillet of coconut French toast. The fluffy pieces of brioche served with warm maple syrup, whipped cream, and a seasonal compote slap every time.

Toro Loco

Website: Toro Loco
Address:
15 Stone St, New York, NY 10004
Brunch hours:
Saturday & Sunday, 11:30 AM – 5 PM

In the spirit of keeping the bottomless brunch in the Financial District train going, the next spot for a killer deal is Toro Loco. Located on Stone Street, this Mexican eatery draws crowds thanks to the $30 bottomless brunch special. For 90 minutes, customers can feast on classic American and Mexican-style dishes with a constant flow of unlimited brunch co*cktails.

Of course, they offer the classic mimosa but also have frozen margaritas, bloody Mary’s, and Micheladas. The only catch is that the whole table must participate. And, if you stumble upon Toro Loco for Sunday brunch, come prepared because they host a drag show at 12:30 and 3pm.
