Hey Blayze Fans! Welcome to part one of our fun series “10 Best Soccer Drills for Beginners.”

Every coach has their own idea of what are the best drills beginners should work on. And all coaches know that the best way to quickly improve your soccer skills is by running drills.

When you are new to soccer, you want to have access to the best drills so you can see the biggest difference in the least amount of time.

This week we feature Coach Mike sem*nza and what he considers to be the 10 best drills.

10 Best Soccer Drills for Beginners:

Juggle in place with bounce

Start with a ball at your feet or in your hands. Either flick the ball up or drop the ball and begin juggling in place. Use only your feet to keep the ball in the air and do your best to juggle in one small area. Let the ball bounce once between every touch with your feet. If the ball gets away from you just reset and start again.

Square Dribble - Right Foot

Set up your square of cones each 4-5yds apart. Start on the left side of the square. Dribble forward using your right foot to cone 1. Sole Roll the ball sideways with your right foot to cone 2. Pull the ball backwards with bottom of the feet to cone 3. Sole Roll the ball sideways with your left foot back to the starting cone. Repeat

Set up your square of cones each 4-5yds apart. Start on the left side of the square. Dribble forward using your left foot to cone 1. Sole Roll the ball sideways with your left foot to cone 2. Pull the ball backwards with bottom of the feet to cone 3. Sole Roll the ball sideways with your right foot back to the starting cone. Repeat

Dribble Line - Alternating Feet

Set up a line of 8-10 cones, each about a yard apart in distance. Using the inside of both feet, dribble the ball weaving through each set of cones until you get to the end. Turn around and repeat.

AJAX Dribble - Alternating Sole Rolls

Using alternating feet, dribble from one end to the other alternating from white to black cones using the sole roll technique. Turn around and dribble back going from black to white cones.

2 Touch Wall Ball - Alternating Instep

Using two touches and alternating instep, pass and receive the ball between the two cones.

1 Touch Technique - Alternating Instep

Using one touch and alternating instep, pass the ball between the two cones.

Directional First Touch - Right Foot

Use two touches and right foot only. First touch is a pass off the wall and second touch is directed to the opposite side of the cone(s).

Directional First Touch - Left Foot

Use two touches and left foot only. First touch is a pass off the wall and second touch is directed to the opposite side of the cone(s).

Directional First Touch - Alternating Feet

Use two touches and alternating feet. First touch is a pass off the wall and second touch is directed to the opposite side of the cone(s).
